  • Low-impact wild camping meadow with woodlands walks on site
  • A short drive to Glyndwr’s Way and Offa’s Dyke Path
  • Walk to two local pubs; breakfasts and evening meals to order on site
Wild camping in Mid Wales on your wishlist? Waste no time in getting to Summer Meadow Camping, a dog-friendly wild camping meadow with woodland walks on site and moorland and upland walking from the doorstep. Private, off grid and low impact, the spacious grassy pitches are eco-friendly and back to basics: so come here for your digital detox, wildlife watching and a relaxed time in the meadow and woodlands. Pack your kit (not forgetting the torch), head over and park beside your pitch. Next to the Wales-England border, this is a peaceful spot in the countryside with no lighting out of consideration for the local wildlife (this also means excellent stargazing due to the site having no light pollution). Dogs are welcome (on leads, please); the aim is to make memories and leave nothing but footprints. Purchase wood and charcoal on site if you’ve brought along a barbecue or firepit (keep them off the ground, so as not to burn the pastures). There are no facilities beyond a portable toilet and a mains water tap with running cold water. If you don't fancy cooking, just order from a range of homecooked farmhouse breakfasts and evening meals to be delivered directly to your pitch. There’s a country pub in Felindre (10 minutes’ walk) for drinks only or a pub serving food in Beguildy (half an hour). Stroll through the Wilding Woods above the meadow, which has natural springs, wildflowers, streams and grassy glades. The site was untouched for 20 years and slowly re-wilded from its previous use growing Christmas trees. There are bluebells, dog rose, stitchwort, pignuts, silver fir trees and plenty of birdlife and wildlife that have found their way back (red kites, jays and owls included).
