What customers say

Highly recommended, well-kept site with amazing sea views & sunsets. Campers loved the friendly owners, spacious/clean pitches, and great facilities (playground, kitchen). Showers usually hot/clean, but some temperature/space issues noted. Great for coastal exploration, though beach walk is hilly.

Liked The hosts are amazing. Me and my friend went for a camping weekend however when we were trying to put the tent up in the rain and heavy wind, the owner kindly offered us a caravan to stay in due to our tent breaking.

Liked ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 – Family-Friendly Site with Excellent Facilities but Exposed Location

We stayed at Blaenwaun Campsite for 5 nights in July 2025 and had an acceptable experience overall. It’s a small, family-oriented site with a central play area, which was ideal — we could keep an eye on the kids from our pitch while they played. The children also loved feeding the horse and pigs, which was a lovely bonus.

✅ What We Liked:

Fully equipped kitchen with hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a large fridge for the campsite to share.

Laundry facilities available

On-site shop, which seemed-stocked — but it was only open twice during our stay, which made it unreliable. There is a notice to call at the owner’s house which overlooks the campsite, but this feels uncomfortable. Many a campsite I’ve stayed at use an honestly box which works well if its unviable to keep the shop manned.

Beautiful location. The sea is a 25minute walk downhill but was too rough for swimming, however the kids enjoyed paddling in the nearby stream. The carpark is a short walk from the beach and cost £5.

Disliked ❌ What We Didn't Like:

The exposed cliff-top location meant it was extremely windy. Sitting outside was uncomfortable, and we couldn't use our awning at all during the stay.

There was only 3 female showers for the site and they were disappointing: cramped, dirty, push-button activated with no temperature control. During our five-day stay, we never saw them being cleaned — there was tissue, mud and hair on the floors/walls, and the children refused to use the "family room" on two occasions because it was in such poor condition. In addition to this a pile of dirty discarded clothes were left in the playpark throughout our stay.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are, of course, sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations, though we would like to clarify a few points raised.

Our location is very clearly described on our website as being cliff-top and coastal, which brings with it both the benefit of spectacular views and the reality of being exposed to the elements. During your visit at the end of August, the weather was particularly unsettled following storm conditions, and unfortunately this did make it windier than usual.

With regard to the facilities, we take great exception to the claim that the showers and family room are not cleaned. All facilities on site are cleaned a minimum of three times daily, with an additional late-night clean to ensure they are in good condition for the morning. However, in wet weather, mud and debris can be brought in more quickly by guests, which can create the impression of mess between cleans. We will continue to monitor this carefully, as high standards of cleanliness are very important to us.

The shop was open twice daily, in the mornings and evenings, as you were advised on arrival. We mentioned that someone is always on site and if you needed anything to call at reception, which is located at the site house. We also reminded you on a few occasions about the site rules requiring dogs to be kept on leads, which are in place for the comfort and safety of all guests.

We do value all constructive feedback and will take on board your comments, but we also feel it is important to set the record straight regarding our facilities and practices.

Beautiful site very clean just wouldn’t recommend in smaller tents

Liked The campsite was perfect. It's a smaller site with a play area in the middle for the children which was perfect because ewe could see them from our pitch. The facilities are everything you could think of. They have a kitchen with hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, large fridge.
They have laundry facilities.
The showers are lovely and warm and powerful.
There is a shop that is open morning and evening for anything you have forgot or if you want to buy something nice for the bbq.
The location is excellent! We walked down part of the coastal path to Mwnt beach.
The kids loved that the campsite had WiFi 😂

Disliked No fault of the site but the location is on top of the cliff over looking mwnt. Unfortunately on the day we pitched up the wind was so powerful it took us hours with the kids helping but sitting on the tent to hold it down 😂

Local attractions

Cardigan Bay is home to a myriad of marine wildlife. Migrating dolphins can often be seen offshore, and there are numerous boat trips departing St Dogmaels (15 minutes’ drive) to view harbour porpoises, Atlantic grey seals and the resident pod of bottled-nosed dolphins. Sporty types will fit right in here too. Golfers can make a beeline for the 18-hole championship course at Gwbert (10 minutes), and there are three other courses within about 20 minutes’ drive. Sailing aficionados can hire boats in Gwbert, and riders explore the countryside on horseback from the local equestrian centre (20 minutes). For a change of pace, learn about local history with a visit to the Benedictine monastery ruins in St Dogmaels, or have a nose around the mighty towers and ramparts of 13th-century Cilgerran Castle (20 minutes). Travel back in time to Castell Henllys (half an hour), a carefully reconstructed Iron Age settlement, and take a walk up to the prehistoric burial monument at Pentre lfan (half an hour).
