Sitting between the seaside towns of Aberaeron and New Quay, Moody Meadows is a family-run site 10 minutes’ drive from spectacular Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion. And not only is it family-run, it’s also very family-friendly, with a whole host of facilities to make life easy on site. These include a farm shop for topping up on supplies, a licensed bistro for those days when you can’t be bothered to spark up the barbecue and a play barn to keep kids safely occupied. The level, tree-lined pitches are all fully serviced with a lawned area for sitting out. Thoughtful additions in the shower block (it has disabled facilities) include hair dryers and a laundrette, and should you be bringing dogs with you, there’s also a dedicated dog wash area for cleaning muddy paws. With easy access off the A487, this quiet site is a convenient base for exploring Ceredigion, its beaches, historic sites and wildlife – watch out for red kites inland and dolphins in Cardigan Bay. A footpath leads from the site to the village of Llwyncelyn (10 minutes’ stroll), and a short walk from there takes you onto the scenic Wales Coast Path… You won’t need a car to explore the area, but a good pair of walking boots is essential.

Liked The hot tub was great. We ordered food to take out from the restaurant which was good. Looked like lots to do for small kids.

Disliked The vibe. We disliked the atmosphere immediately, it was so busy and crammed. This was the most expensive pitch I have ever booked and we left early. Not for us at all (39 & 15 yo, travelling with small dog) there were children screaming and dogs barking all night. Very commercial, I should have realised this when booking but the pitches looked much bigger, peaceful it was not.

Liked An absolute Gem of a place so peaceful , very clean site with super sized pitches with plenty of room . Great Shower Block , Lovely food , easy access for Newquay with a Bus stop just outside the park . Would definitely stay here again . Great for families and couples . 😀

Liked We are a family with teenagers and spent the week in Moody meadows from 9th August.
The site is absolutely beautiful. Lovely large pitches with large grass area. Very clean with great amenities. Recycling. Water tap at each pitch. Close to toilet blocks which were immaculate. Excellent bar and restaurant and lovely outdoor space for relaxing. The pond was beautiful.
Very relaxing holiday. Lovely walk to aberaeron on the coastal path.
Location is amazing with short drives to Newquay and aberaeron.

Disliked Nothing at all. Didn’t want to come home.

Liked Loved the whole set up. It was a lovely quiet site - unassuming but everything was spotless and really friendly staff. Food was fab in the bistro. Will consider treating ourselves to a hot tub pitch on another occasion. sahem it's 4.5 hours away from us!

Liked lovely site we stay in adults only part , bar and restaurant lovely , food nice , bus route outside, coastal walk is a long walk , would definitely stay again

Disliked showers the floor got soaked , push button only last a couple of seconds

Disliked Not really a family budget friendly site, travelled 250 miles to stay a week and my children were bored some days, as couldn't afford to pay for the same park for them everyday.

If the kids catch the wildlife bug, take them to see the birds of prey and butterfly house at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (55 minutes’ drive), where they can also encounter giant animal sculptures on lakeside walks. Learn more about the history of this corner of Ceredigion with a visit to the National Wool Museum (25 minutes), housed in a historic mill packed with original spinning looms; there are entertaining craft workshops for families. Fans of the combustion engine can see 19th-century machines in motion at The Internal Fire Museum of Power (20 minutes), giving an insight into the development of steam power. Staying with the heritage theme, tour the handsome John Nash-designed villa and lakeside gardens at National Trust - Llanerchaeron (10 minutes). If your offspring need an antidote to all that history, the crescent-shaped sandy beach at New Quay (10 minutes’ drive) has rock pools for crabbing and is backed by ice cream stalls and cafés.
