New Dog Walking Area

  • Small family-run touring park two minutes from Junction 22 of the M5
  • A couple of miles from the beach at Burnham-On-Sea
  • Easy access to the Mendip Hills, Weston-super-Mare and Glastonbury
Green, Somerset-based and adults-only: what a splendidly relaxed and smashingly scenic place this is – and all just a couple of miles from the beach at Burnham-On-Sea. This small and family-run touring park is only two minutes' drive from Junction 22 of the M5 too, so bring your wheels and base yourself firmly here for some time around Somerset seaside days, handsome old towns, ancient sites (Glastonbury!) and green countryside and hills around which to ramble. Off further afield? Stop off here on the way to or from a holiday in Cornwall. Greenacre Place Touring Caravan Park has a level touring field with grass pitches. Chemical disposal points are on site for guests' use, along with a toilet block and heated showers in large cubicles with wet and dry areas. There's also free wifi. Dogs are very welcome, but please keep them on leads at all times on site. A pub serving food is ten minutes' walk away; shops, pubs, restaurants, a supermarket, bus service and Highbridge train station are all within five minutes' drive.

Liked The site is small, but perfectly formed. The Dog Park was an absolute hit with our hounds. Seriously, if Hamish had had his own way he'd have spent his entire holiday in there with all the toys to choose from. Everything is immaculate.

Liked lovely clean site, spotless facilities, adult only, friendly owners.
dog run to let your dog run and play. Nice base to explore surrounding areas.

Disliked people letting dog run loose and crapping, had to tell the dog owner as it did its business near our van, we have a dog and the campsite owner might have thought it was our dog. Rules say dog on leash unless in dog walking area, why can't people adhere to the rules?
Apart from that, no complaints with site at all.

Liked Facilities were the best we’ve been to. Greeted by the owner as soon as we arrived with a guide book containing everything you need to know about the site and the area. This owner has gone above and beyond what is expected. Site kept immaculate. Night lighting is 2nd to none and more places should take note. Small friendly site with everything you need.

Disliked Although there is nothing that anyone could do about it the road noise is a constant and could be off putting to some.

Liked Very clean caravan park
Lovely little touches

Disliked The WiFi terrible not good
cameras everywhere felt like big brother was watching you all the time
If you didn’t have a motor mover you would be screwed as pitches very very tight and stone boulders on the edge which is not great for your wheels if you have a large car

Liked Very clean and pretty toilet and shower facilities, including a few spare tolietries if forgotten your own. At night the site is lit with multi-coloured solar lights. Given a file of useful information about local amenities, walks etc, to keep for the duration of our stay.

Disliked The road noise from the A38. Almost constant, even during the night. Made sleeping very difficult - as did the heat!
A bit tight driving to and from the pitch, careful to avoid decorative stones & solar lights.

Local attractions

Greenacre Place Touring Caravan Park is a mere two miles from the long sandy beaches of Burnham-On-Sea and within easy access of famed Somerset seaside town Weston-super-Mare, home of more sands, a most Grand Pier and Britain's only helicopter museum. To the north is the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a Mendip must not only for their viewsome hikes among the gorges and woodland rising up from the Somerset Levels, but also for the eye-wateringly fab Cheddar Gorge, carved into the hills and so gorge-ous it's been named as Britain's second greatest natural wonder (the Dan-yr-Ogof caves in Wales are first). Going east will take you to also very famed Glastonbury, with its Tor, Chalice Well, 170 listed buildings and the Somerset Rural Life Museum; a short distance from there is the village of Street and to the north you'll find the tiny city of Wells. Other top options are the county town of Taunton, surrounded by the Blackdown and Quantock Hills, and the Bredon Hills to the south-west, running all the way along to Exmoor National Park.
