  • Friendly pop-up site in a field behind a Somerset pub
  • Frome 10 minutes' drive; half an hour from Bath city centre
  • Breakfasts available at the pub
Buckland Field Camping is a small and friendly pop-up site based in a paddock to the rear of a Somerset village pub. Set just behind The Bell Inn in Buckland Dinham, this spot is simple but comfortable, with good amenities including well-maintained toilets, warm showers and a washing-up area. This is a spot where it's very easy to leave the car behind. There are plenty of bike trails and footpaths in the local Somerset countryside, some of which start pretty much directly at the site gates, or you can catch the D2 bus from just outside the pub to destinations like Bath and Frome. Other Somerset spots like Cheddar and the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are within easy driving distance too. Other perks of staying here include the on-site pub, where you can get a hot breakfast. If you'd rather self-cater, portable gas stoves are permitted if guests exercise caution. Well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout the camping season at Buckland Field Camping.

What customers say

Buckland Field: a quiet, no-frills campsite near The Bell Inn. Friendly staff, great food & fair prices. Nice country views, ideal for exploring. Clean washrooms. Some found toilet access limited & showers costly (£2 for 6 mins) with temperature issues. Flies & suitability for larger RVs were noted. Good value, many would revisit.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Peaceful, relaxing space to camp, with sounds of local birds and wildlife on a hit summer's evening. Pub staff very friendly and helpful. Prices good. There's a ping pong table and snooker and board games in a separate area of the pub.

Disliked Very hot shower, no knobs to turn to change temperature. Still, it was a big space to shower and get changed in.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Nice little pub next door but did not open till 5pm with nothing else around for miles this was very disappointing.

Disliked Full of flies even in the pub completely everywhere
No toilet close just a shower at £2 which is very expensive for a cold shower and no other facilities.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked The pub was lovely
The field was well maintained
Easy to find

Disliked Only 1 toilet and it's quite a walk from the field and creepy at night as its through a car park
1 shower which you have to pay for
The campsite doesn't state this £2 for 6mins doesn't stay hot either

Too many campers needs limits to how many can pitch up
Loud campers
Police being called at 11pm and others chatting til 3pm ruined the last night!

Recommend to friends Visit again

Would only return if they restricted the number of campers.
