Relaxed Campsite with adjacent Woodland
Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Pretty chilled and relaxed place making a point to leave plenty of space between pitches, while there is a busy road nearby we couldn’t hear it. The woodland accessible from the campsite is really nice for a walk with the dog or even a good run.
Disliked Toilets are portaloos so you know what to expect but they were kept clean. There was quite a queue for the 3 showers on the bank holiday weekend but again, that’s something you can expect and deal with.

From the manager: Thankyou for the lovely pictures and I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes we have plenty of toilets and keep them clean, but a limited number of showers. It is worth showering outside of peak times if you can to avoid a wait when the site is busy.

Liked Incredibly friendly owners. Clean, well situated facilties. Nice level field.
Disliked Only one slight negative was that the washing basins had no hot water.

From the manager: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. The showers, basins and sinks should have hot water 24/7. They are checked regularly, but if anything goes wrong in between times, please let us know at reception and we will remedy it straight away.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Plenty of space
Very clean toilets, showers and washing up facilities.
Superb adjacent woodland area for giving the dogs a run.
Very helpful staff
Disliked Noise from helicopters and railway line but we do live in an area which is completely silent at night!

From the manager: So glad you enjoyed the site. We do get a few helicopters going over because of the military bases at Lulworth and Bovington nearby, also the coastguard and air ambulance go over from time to time if there is an issue on the beaches nearby. The military interest in the area, like Bovington Tank museum and the chance to see tanks training from Clouds Hill road is one of the attractions of the area. I've got to admit it hasn't occurred to me to worry about it as a negative before, but yes agreed you do get occasional noise. I like seeing the big Chinooks go over. You'll also see gliders and small aircraft from the nearby gliding club and sometimes Guy Ritchie's spitfire goes over which is very cool. The train track is about half a mile away and you can hear the trains depending on wind direction. The upside of this is that we are very close to Wareham and Wool stations on the London Waterloo to Weymouth line.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Very friendly welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. Big flat field, and peaceful nights sleep under a starry sky. Quiet trail right next to the site. Facilities were clean and tidy and with hot water. Was an easy drive to beautiful Lulworth and Durdle door and fish and chips by the river in Wareham.

From the manager: Dear Graham, many thanks for scoring us so highly and I'm glad you liked the site and it's a shame some irresponsible dog owners spoilt your stay. Dogs are supposed to be under control as per the rules, most dog owners understand the need for this and we do remind owners when we see it. Please don't hesitate to let us know at reception if any dogs are bothering you and we are happy to intervene on your behalf with the owners.
Good base for Jurassic coast
Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Really friendly couple running the campsite. Bus service from nearby stop was great to get to Lulworth and Corfe Castle. Beautiful woods to walk in from the campsite.

From the manager: So glad you enjoyed your stay. And so glad you found the local buses, More Bus Jurassic Breezer and First Bus Jurassic Coaster run a regular service to Swanage, Wareham, Wool, Lulworth and Weymouth. There's a request stop at the junction of A352/Church Lane, about 10 mins walk from the site. It's really handy, especially for people in larger campervans who are all set up or to avoid the expensive parking at Lulworth. Look out for day tripper ticket deals if you want to do several journeys in a day around the area.
