What customers say
This peaceful forest campground has private, well-spaced sites with fire pits near Dartmoor. Clean facilities with eco-friendly touches are a highlight. Owners are consistently friendly and helpful. Most love the tranquil, off-grid feel, though some note narrow access roads and occasional weather-related facility issues.

Great site for fun and privacy, well-maintained and pitches are level
Primitive forest floor tent campsite (four person)
Liked We loved Barhams Woodland Campsite. The pitches have a lot of privacy and protection from the weather and the facilities are very well put together and presented. Annie was a lovely, freindly host and took a real interest in our trip and ensuring we were happy and well-catered for. We visited with our friends and Annie ensured that we had spots as close together as possible. The notice boards and local info was a very nice touch and very well put together. We didn't use the additional games area or picnic spot as we had ample room and cover in our pitch but we thought it was a lovely use of the clearings and well done. We would definitely visit again and recommend to all of our friends! My doggy loved it and it was all very well-suited for travelling with pets
The wheelbarrows are a lovely touch and my doggy also enjoyed them very much 😅
Thank you so much for having us!

Liked the amazing woodland, the tranquility, the lovely facilities
Disliked this is a personal issue rather than an issue with the site. but it was so peaceful that i got quite freaked out at night, being from a much busier place! but this is probably a really good thing for most!

Affordable and sustainable comfort in the outdoors
Primitive cement/asphalt campervan campsite (maximum 6 metres)
Liked We really enjoyed our stay in the woods. Excellent facilities - level, enclosed areas for campers and clean loos, showers, washing up and chilling out areas. But most of all, the peace and quiet, listening to the sounds of owls and trees rustling and seeing the stars in the dark sky.
Disliked There's nothing we didn't like

Great location lovely site
Primitive cement/asphalt campervan campsite (maximum 6 metres)
Liked Camper van sites had wood chipped floor.
Toilets and showers well maintained and stocked up with toilet paper.
Nice touch with the faith in nature shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.
Beautiful setting
Disliked Tented area was just dirt as grass completely worn away. Due to heavy rain this turned muddy. Not ideal when camping.

Primitive cement/asphalt campervan campsite (maximum 6 metres)
Liked Absolutely gorgeous place.
Lovely little individual pitches in the woodland.
Off grid but really nice toilets & showers
Fire outs at each pitch with log bags available from the site.
Disliked To be honest (& I’m a mum & grand mum) there was 1 noisy family that really ruined the evenings for me.
Such a shame to be somewhere so tranquil & gorgeous ruined by screeching older kids.

From the manager: Thanks so much for the feedback, and I’m really sorry your evenings were disturbed. We work hard to keep Barhams peaceful, with quiet hours in place—but very occasionally noise slips through. We have wardens living on site specifically to deal with issues like this quickly, so if anything crops up during a stay please let us know at the time and we’ll step in right away. I hope we can welcome you back for the tranquil experience we’re known for.
