Nice walks around the lake were…
Powered grass campervan or tent campsite
Liked Nice walks around the lake were had. The only positive was that there was just one other camper on site and therefore we enjoyed a wonderfully peaceful two nights!
Disliked Reception was closed upon arrival and we didn't find it open any time during our two day stay. Had a lovely spacious pitch, let down by litter left strewn everywhere, including ashes from a bbq by previous occupants, which we had to clear away (not sure how long it had been there but it certainly didn't look as though it was recent). The site is let down by the gymnasium/school style showers/toilets with communal changing area, which is not appropriate when the site includes an activity centre where youngsters/youths also get changed. The camping site shower block was closed and judging by previous reviews, has been since 2025. The shower cubicles are not spacious enough accommodate toiletries or clothes, etc., let alone to get changed in, therefore having to get dressed in the communal area is the only option, which is NOT appropriate when children from the activity centre also use it. The whole toilet/shower area could do with an upgrade. The showers spray water from joints in the pipe work, they are not particularly warm and not very clean. The disabled toilet/wet room didn't look to be in any better condition either. Would not return as we have stayed on sites with much better, cleaner facilities, for less.

Grounds are nice lake is lovely
Primitive grass RV, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The lake
Disliked Being made to check in half way through the day like a hotel ….. no need for it with the amount of money you pay to stay and how quiet it was …. Waist of a holiday checking in nearly at the end of the day and having to leave early in the morning means you’ve taken off a day of our holiday and taken FULL PAY
I’ll stick to camp sites that allow anytime check in and anytime leaving… if I book a holiday because I’ve work all the hours under the sun I don’t want to have half my holiday taken off

Great couple of nights away
Primitive grass RV, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We loved the peace and quiet. Site clean and tidy. Showers could do with a bit of attention so water doesn’t pour out of the button you press to operate. The field along side pitch 3 was such a bonus for the children to play

The campsite is lovely and spacious,…
Powered grass campervan or tent campsite
Liked The campsite is lovely and spacious, the showers are a little cold especially at night. If you plan to paddle that's quite expensive as it's a daily rate and not a 7 day pass as stated on the website, it was £16 a day per paddle board to self launch, which becomes costly when there are 3 of you paddling. There is a small climbing rock for the children but no park unless you drive to the otherside of the lake otvwalk about half an hour (much longer with younger children) overall it was a relaxing stay but if you looking for adventure not much to do in the area or campsite without crazy prices.

Fantastic stop off
Powered grass campervan or tent campsite
Liked Great size pitches in grass /electric area. Caters for lots of different water sports. Was extremely well organised with no fuss. The location was spectacular, as the name suggest it’s on a huge dammed lake . The wildlife was amazing.
Disliked White shower block could do with a clean. Shower was like a leisure centre. Trying to stop the dogs going in the lake
