Come along to Combe Martin’s Stowford Farm Meadows in north Devon for a bit of de-stressing in a rural setting: the park is a mile from the main road down its own private drive and is a well-placed base from which to explore the best of Devon. Set among 500 acres of Devon woodland and meadows, Stowford Farm Meadows falls into the category of ‘very large’ sites – but fear not if your tastes tend towards the more solitary, as the park is divided into five separate fields and feels like several small sites rolled into one. The overall size means there are heaps of facilities and activities for you to try your hand at, from cantering around on horseback with the help of the on-site riding centre, to driving the kids crazy with your swish moves at the crazy golf. Looking for something a bit quieter? There are marked woodland walks into the wildlife-rich Bittadon valley, with nature trails starting and finishing on site. A heated indoor pool is available for a small extra charge; some days, there are also activities here like the aqua inflatable run and 'aqua paddlers' sessions for kids (both at an additional charge). For putting feet up or letting hair down, the site has two bars (with evening entertainment in peak season) and an on-site takeaway. For supplies, Stowford Farm Meadows has a licensed, well-stocked shop for your caravan and camping accessories. And finally? Even the dog will de-stress here, with a friendly welcome and a spacious dog-walking area on site…

Liked Reception was very helpful and clean and tidy

Disliked Directions around the site was poor pitches are quite steep and staff in the restaurant were not very helpful very poor lighting when we came out of the restaurant in the evening back to the van

Camping pod

Liked Cosy pod, close to facilities, comfy bed, close to Combe Martin and ilfracombe

Disliked Paid extra for travel cot which was supplied but without a mattress, had to improvise with what we had but obviously wasn’t ideal! Paying extra yours think all the necessary parts would be supplied. Also the pillows and duvet on the double bed had marks on them. And the little stool/table hasn’t been wiped clean.

Liked Spacious site, not very busy. Bar and food were good.

Disliked Thankfully we were pitched close to a facility block. Plugs were missing from all washing-up sinks! Even one was missing from a privacy cubicle making shaving a challenge!!
The general tidyness around the site was lacking with full bins.

Liked Good size pitches. Close driving distance to coast.

Disliked Reception for tourers should be done better with a dedicated lane etc as there was no indication of a pull up area and very tight as it is in a car park due to renovations being done on site.

Liked Wide open space, beautiful views, very large pitches.

Disliked My biggest complaint about the sight itself, is it's kinda miles from anywhere. Making it difficult and with fuel prices just lately, very expensive to go anywhere.
Other things that need addressing but aren't complaints. Internet signal and phone signal are spotty on sight. Being on top of a hill and a very wide open space, leave you exposed to all the weather. These things are not the sights fault, but things you do need to know

Liked Food was awsome, reasonably priced.
Pitch was close to amenities, friendly staff and some great country views.
You will need a car to get anywhere as its a long walk to the main road

Disliked Wasn't told at booking there was demolition of buildings but should look great when completed.
This is a cashless site so top up your spending card.
Recycling point by reception and only one, refuse bind in old carts dotted around park

Liked My wife and I last stayed here about 2018, we loved the site then. The shower/toilet blocks were clean and the water hot, the pitch in field 5 was quite sloping but with good chocks, not a problem. Good facilities for motorhomes, water tap at back of hookup sockets which was useful and site was quiet at night. The fish and chips from the onsite chippy was okay to.

Disliked The onsite farm shop from memory used to stock fresh/local produce and now stocks nothing fresh, but frozen food, booze and sweets. Which was disappointing. The outside bar area was covered in cigarette butts from the overflowing cigarette bin and the tables could have done with a wipe over, the beer okay though.

Disliked Pitches not level and because we hired a motorhome we don’t have blocks! Shop not open at 9.15 so couldn’t purchase anything before we left! Very basic electric cable didn’t reach so had to move to a different pitch! Cobwebs all in windows in toilet block. No WiFi unless you paid
