  • Simple site on Cornwall’s north coast, 15 minutes’ drive from Padstow
  • Mawgan Porth five minutes’ drive; 20 minutes to Newquay
  • Access to Porthcothan Bay and the South West Coast Path
Set just inland from the north Cornwall coast, Seaview Farm Stays has pretty views across the surrounding valley and (from various points around the site) towards the sea, too; and since it faces west, sunsets here can be very memorable. Just five minutes’ drive from St Eval and close to several sandy beaches, it’s a peaceful and well-placed base for exploring the coast. There are excellent walks along the South West Coast Path to Bedruthan Steps (35 minutes on foot) or Mawgan Porth (about an hour), or you can just stroll through the farm to reach the sands of Porthcothan Bay (25 minutes), a splendid spot for paddling and bodyboarding, as well as scenic sunset picnics. Other walks might take you to Park Head (half an hour) or Porth Mear Cove (35 minutes). Can’t get enough of those splendid Cornish beaches? Top spots like Newquay (20 minutes’ drive) and Perranporth (40 minutes) aren’t far off either. This is a laidback and pleasingly spacious site that welcomes families, groups and dogs and that is pretty relaxed about things like barbecues and campfires. Simple facilities include basic toilets, coin-operated hot showers, drinking water taps and a chemical waste disposal facility. Please be aware that pitches are on a slight slope. Mawgan Porth (five minutes’ drive) and Padstow (15 minutes) are your closest places for shops and places to eat, but there’s also a shop at Porthcothan Bay (just over half a mile away) for snacks, coffees and ice creams, plus a nice tearoom a little over a mile away.

What customers say

This peaceful, back-to-basics site offers spacious pitches with countryside/sea views. Great for beach and coastal path exploration. Facilities get mixed reviews (some basic but functional, others note hot water/cleanliness issues). No Wi-Fi/mobile signal a plus for disconnecting. Some mention signage/bin issues. Manager is friendly and improving things.

Powered grass campsite

Liked I love the basic idea of camping so the facilities provided were adequate.

Disliked The sloping pitches were a bit challenging for a tent set up, spent a lot of time retrieving items that had slid off the table or the wife who had rolled off the bed 😂However this is a promising site and we will use again

Liked The area

Disliked Floor was on a slope made sitting on floor playling hard.
We stayed for 8 night longer than others on electric pitches and given the worst pitch for the longer stay.
I also have a broken neck at the minute which i did email about 4 weeks before arrival so fully aware. other electric pitches alot less of a slope.
If you have adhd like myself and look at the name of the camp sea view there isnt one from this camp site unless you have an imagination of a 5 year old.
I loved cornwall but this campsite i would not return. And honastly if my neck wasnt broken id of packed up and paid another campsite to move onto as i feel like i have wasted the money.
Also a big group of people arrived in a group roughly 7 big tents grouped together. The last 3 night people walking about and 3 in the morning talking loudly walking us up.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Spacious site, close to beaches. 15-min walk to sea. Easy access to some of England's most beautiful coves, harbours and the SW coastal path along the cliffs.
Hot showers, facilities clean and quite new.

Disliked Almost impossible to find anywhere to charge phone. Nowhere on site if you don't have one of the few electric pitches. We didn't want phones much but needed to be contactable in emergency by family and to be able to contact the site if needed. We could only charge in the car on longer journeys around the area.

Liked The space and laid back feel. The walk to the most beautiful beach. Quick response from the host.

Disliked Only one night had an issue with a very loud group of lads who kept us awake until 3am. Not the fault of the site at all, but was responded to really well by the host.

Local attractions

Foodies make a beeline for Padstow (15 minutes’ drive), where celebrity chef Rick Stein has several fish restaurants – just be sure to book ahead if you wish to sample some of his dishes. The Camel Trail, which starts (or ends) in the town is an 18-mile path that follows an old railway line through woodlands and marshlands and along the River Camel. If the kids have a surfeit of energy, take them to Camel Creek Family Adventure Park (15 minutes), with rides for all ages, resident animals (rabbits, goats, meerkats among others) and a splash zone. Speaking of splashing: Giant Slip and Slide Cornwall (15 minutes) is an inflatable attraction with multiple sliding lanes. Whether you want to have a go or are a bit of a pro, Newquay (20 minutes) is the place for catching waves, whether at Great Western Beach or at Fistral Beach, behind which is an 18-hole golf club. And if it’s miniature golf you’re after, try the indoor course at Pirate’s Quest Adventure Golf.
