  • Family-friendly site with fishing lakes 15 minutes’ drive from Newquay
  • Mawgan Porth five minutes’ drive; Springfield Fun Park 15 minutes
  • Children’s playground; resident farm animals; farm shop; launderette
Be sure to pack your trusted rod for your stay at Penvose Farm Holidays, a working farm on the edge of Cornwall Airport Newquay, with four coarse fishing lakes where guests can go fishing for half the price charged to outside visitors. Indeed, the best thing (or one of the best things, at least) about staying here is that your loved ones will also have plenty to keep them occupied while you sit by the water, waiting for carp and perch to bite, your canine friend snoozing gently by your side. (There is a small fee for dogs, but they are welcome here, provided they are well-behaved around the livestock.) A children’s playground has a wooden climbing structure, swings and slides; the large grassy meadow is also a top spot for riding a bike or kicking a ball around. Then, of course, there’s the spectacular beaches of North Cornwall. Within a short drive are Mawgan Porth (five minutes), a sheltered sandy triangle at the mouth of the River Menalhyl; and neighbouring Porth Beach and Newquay (both 15 minutes, separated by the rocky Glendorgal Headland). Rockpools line the former, set within a deep inlet, while Newquay is renowned for its surfing waves. The South West Coast Path runs along all of these beaches, and a clifftop hike might lead to vantage points with stunning sea views – or to traditional Cornish pubs where you can stop for refreshments. A small farm shop at the site sells bits and bobs for the barbecue; there are also several supermarkets within a 10-minute drive, not to mention heaps of restaurants in both Newquay and Padstow (25 minutes). Other amenities on site include hot showers, a launderette and a communal freezer.

What customers say

Penvose Farm: Lovely, family-run site with friendly staff, spacious spots, and great facilities (clean washrooms!). Farm shop's a hit. Close to beaches/Newquay. Some airport noise, but not bothersome for most. Minor washroom upkeep noted, management is aware.

Liked toilets and showers very clean
pitch was a good size
enjoyed watching planes from airport
around 15 to 20 mins drive to Newquay
easy signage to find pitch plot
lots of bins
pot wash area kept clean and has bowls already there to use
plot was abit of a slope but nothing major
play park for kids
nice fishing lakes seen massive fish swimming around
farm shop has bacon eggs sausages chocolate coffee etc so perfect
lady at reception very welcoming
2 beaches a short drive
very quiet site
we stayed on meadow field near the toilet block

Disliked only thing I would say is a few things at the park are broken and could do with abit of fixing like rocking cow handle
tyres on seasaw but that's honestly is it

Liked Really easy booking in, pitch was fab and close proximity to the main washing / shower block which was clean. Basic shower facilities but what more do you need if camping? We thought the airport would bother us but was really fun to watch planes land and take off. Small walk (about 20 mins) to local beach which was stunning. We managed to get a sunset walk in too. Onsite shop is fab with everything you need and staff are wonderful.

Disliked Nothing about the campsite but the road outside can be pretty dangerous as no pathway to use and on a blind corner. We managed it with 2 dogs but be careful if walking.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Great site, good price, clean facilities. It's right next to an airport so obviously there are planes taking off/landing throughout the day but it stops in the evening and they don't start again until half 8 / 9AM. it didn't disturb us much.

Liked Welcoming staff on reception/in the shop.
Choice of pitch when we arrived.
There was 4 of us with two campers and we were allowed to be on one pitch together, the pitches are 10m x 10m and it’s plenty of room for two camper vans and still had space to relax etc.
