Within 10 minutes' drive of the golden sands of Perranporth beach and Newquay's vibrant surf scene, Monkey Tree Holiday Park is a family-friendly holiday destination set in 56 acres of scenic Cornish countryside. Families looking for an equal mix of relaxation and entertainment should very much appreciate this place… First of all, it has a heated outdoor swimming pool, indoor and outdoor play areas and a jam-packed schedule of seasonal entertainment to keep families entertained. What customers say

A well-loved, family park with a great vibe and loads for kids! Staff are usually praised, and facilities are clean. Watch out for evening noise and crowds, plus some found activity costs and WiFi could be better.

Liked We stayed for three nights. Lovely site, lots for the kids to do. Plenty of food & drink options. Really good vibe to the whole site. Short drive to Newquay and close to A30. We would absolutely come back again

Liked Facilities easy to find.
Great customer service at check in.
Large pitch size
Choice of food outlets and shop, whilst not cheap, a lot more affordable than some sites.
Pool was good and warm.
Showers and toilets clean and well marked.

Disliked More a suggestion - lots on bikes, which is lovely to see, so might be good to have cycle routes and lanes on site so safer movement for pedestrians and cars.

Liked Pool area was nice.

Pitch was big and spacious.

One of the receptionist was lovely when we arrived but I get the impression the have a lot of summer temps as expected for the season and as such we were given contradictory information my different staff members.

Outside space is clean and well kept.

Disliked The facilities are awfully dirty and unkept based on those we experienced.

The porcelain floor tiles on the terrace where you can look at the pool is filthy and clearly hasn’t been mopped in weeks.

The shop is expensive for the quality

Liked Campsite was lovely clean with flowers all over

Disliked Toilet were dirty during night time it was cleaned but sadly on evening was toilet paper all over and dirty floors in shower parts .

Pool we got one session because people were greedy and the band system it took me one time to guess. People are knowing when the bands are being used and not handing them back and putting them on and walking through reception area of pool without names being asked. Maybe staff can have some brain cells and count the bands in evening and replace what are missing and also ask for names (as they are not booked) also do a different band for those who are not swimming? As there was 8 people who weren’t swimming so then that’s two families who can go in (as seen these sitting in the bar balcony with bands on watching families) also busy times lower the session available to make it fair. Your booking system does not work and from one session I figured a lot out so confused how this hasn’t been managed. I’d actually like a refund of the % that’s paid towards pool too as that was main reason we came! I would of stayed again if staff actually did what they promised to do not a very promising communication shame really as perfect park

Liked The whole set up is great for families with all ages of children. On site facilities are great and clean.

Disliked Having to book swimming times and limited to the amaount of days you can book is a negative. The prices of the groceries in the store far too high

Liked Facilities were clean and plenty of stuff for the kids to do.

Disliked Pitch was dirty had rubbish flying around when I arrived, I paid for a premium pitch but didn't have any water feed. Some of the pitches did. Was a bit random who had and who didnt.

Also there were no numbers at entrance to each pitch slot so you couldn't tell what turning to go down.

I had no idea where the grey water waste was meant to go as no signs anywhere for it.

Liked The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Lots for the kids to do and felt safe letting them have a bit of freedom. Variety of entertainment on offer, and the pool was lovely, felt like an abroad holiday! Especially with the weather we had!
It was also a bonus being able to catch the bus to Newquay, as our car broke down and we would've been stuck otherwise.

Disliked Personally would have preferred a quieter pitch as we were on a busy cross roads across from the toilets and a small play park and felt a bit overlooked, but no actual issues just personal preference, if we were to visit again I would look to request a different plot, although I think as our kids are getting older we would probably be better at a quieter camp now.

Local attractions

Cornwall’s coastline and beaches are pretty much legendary, but Newquay (10 minutes) is world-famed for its surf and nightlife too. It’s a party town from daybreak until well after dark and the surf's so good they hold international competitions here – check out Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. Perranporth (10 minutes) is the place to head for a more relaxed beach day, though it’s very popular so best to get your towel down early. The beach here is a fab spot for dog walking, rolling up the trousers for a paddle or lazing around and copping a look at the views. The Eden Project (35 minutes) has the UK’s most realistic rainforest, full of rare plant species and exotic butterflies, as well as a pretty nifty Mediterranean biome. Daredevils can also have a go on England’s longest zipwires here.
