What customers say
Charming, rustic site with friendly owners & spacious pitches, featuring free-roaming poultry. Great for Lizard Peninsula exploration. Facilities generally good but some note need for updates & occasional road noise/cleanliness issues. Good for a peaceful, nature getaway.

Disliked Toilets and showers were dirty. I appreciate these are housed in our buildings but an occasional dust and wipe through would clear the spiders web and various other creepy crawlies

Liked owners were very pleasent and friendly
Disliked site is badly maintained and is unsuitable for camping as the ground does not drain

From the manager: The geology of the Lizard peninsular is unique as we are completely on serpentine and granite. We only have approx 4 ft till we reach clay and then rock so when the water table reaches the surface it does stay on top.
We were able to open in April this year but last year not till May.
The fields on the Lizard have deep ditches to help disperse the ground water which eventually makes its way to the sea.
The upside is the unique landscape supports flora and fauna that only grows on this type of terrain.
If only we could alter the drainage but it’s impossible.
Once we pass March the ground is ok for camping but we do monitor April closely. We rarely get muddy from April onwards and dry out so ground is solid.
Would definitely return and recommend.

Liked The site was small, friendly and quirky with resident chickens and a massive turkey with lots of personality. Toilets and showers clean. Washing machine and tumble dryer good prices. Good location for Lizard Point, Kynance Cove and Cadgwith Cove Inn which is amazing on a Friday night when the sea shanty singers entertain. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend.
Disliked Nothing.

Disliked There are only two toilets and I can imagine this could become a problem when there are more people on the campsite.

Disliked I don't normally leave reviews but wish I'd paid attention to the ones already left before I booked this stay. The site is quite small but one of the fields backs onto the main road (60mph) and our pitch was directly next to it. Noisy from early to late. The roaming birds are a novelty, but we had to stop the turkeys clawing at our tent multiple times. Finally, the washing facilities were awful. Absolutely caked in cobwebs, dead spiders and insects etc. We've stayed in lots of places and this was the worst I've seen. My son is scared of spiders and refused to shower after the first visit. Cleanliness is substandard. Nothing at all to entertain children. We won't stay here again.

Liked We have just come back from a fantastic fortnight at this great camp site. It was our first time camping in a long time. Everything you need showers , toilets, washing up facilities and a washer and dryer if you needed it. Hosts were really lovely and informative and nothing was to much trouble. Turkeys and chickens roaming free which was lovely. Its located near lizard point, which has good eating places. We will definitely be back to this campsite it was fantastic!

Liked Lovely site, ideal for a peaceful break away. Owners really friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Lovely to see the chickens and turkeys roaming around. Quiet location. No light pollution at night, so a rare chance to see how beautiful our skies can be. Close to amenities and lots of beautiful places to visit within easy distance by car. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again soon.
Disliked No dislikes, but a couple more toilet/shower blocks would be useful when the site is full. However, never found it a problem during our stay.
