  • Cornwall holiday park with beach access five minutes’ drive from Hayle
  • A 20-minute drive from Tate St Ives
  • Bar, bistro and shop on site, plus a play park and heated indoor pool
Private access to a three-mile sandy beach sound tempting? That's the fabulous feature you’ll get at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, set on sand dunes five minutes’ drive from Hayle in Cornwall. If you’re all piling in for a family holiday, you can spend days building sandcastles, running around on the beach with the kids and cooling off in the sea. Travelling as a couple? You’ll have spectacular sea views across St Ives Bay and you’re almost guaranteed colourful sunsets as a backdrop for romantic twilight strolls on the sand. And when kicking back and enjoying the views is not quite enough for you (and, let’s face it, the kids will want more), how about crazy golf, tennis or the amusement arcades? You can burn off more energy at the surf school or in the heated indoor swimming pool, and there are play areas scattered around the park to wear the kids out properly. With all this going on, make sure you leave time to unwind for a drink at the terrace bar with superb views over the bay and a menu of small, tapas-style snacks – there’s entertainment in the evenings too. Or you may like to make a night of it with the family over a freshly prepared meal at Sands Bistro? Forgotten an important ingredient or need milk for your morning cuppa? There’s a well-stocked independent shop on site that stocks all the essentials, including your daily newspaper.

Liked: Location near massive beach (walk through the dunes) dog heaven! coastal path access, sunsets and coastal views , friendly staff, organisation well managed, nearby bus route, variety of basic food and bar on site, swimming pool indoor available, shop with necessities

Disliked: Water tap for drinking water not compatible with hose for filling water tank so only way is to use something to fill the tank or if you have water roller and no grey waste area so found a grate for ground water eventually) shower blocks are basic clean but pretty fresh as doors always open ( showers are hot but usual push taps) the is a newer shower block further up site which is hilly but also freezing but it was low season May, internet signal poor at camp site WiFi available in sands bar good

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Great location for the beach

Disliked: Booked and paid for an electric pitch , two days before had an email saying no electric pitch available, very annoying, luckily we have solar panels and it lasted just long enough , but felt extremely let down as couldn’t use all our items,
Pitches are extremely close together too, not a lot of room to move

Liked: The choice of pitch - get there early to get a good front pitch as the views are spectacular!
The pitches are large and you can park up to optimise the views. We were fortunate to be able to have sea views with Godrevy lighthouse as we had a front pitch so right by the dunes.
Sunset and sunrises on the dunes or beach are not to be missed
It is windy so if you have an awning, gazebo or windbreaker make sure they are strapped down well!!
Friendly and helpful colleagues in reception and rhetoric touring area.
Site is very clean and although the showers and loos are basic and a bit tired they are clean and showers hot. There are only 3 showers in each of the 2 blocks, so time it right and you miss the rush ! There is an accessible toilet too
there are plug sockets in the ladies toilets to use your own hairdryer etc.
The club house was a short walk, up hill from our pitch and is a bit on the pricey side for drinks!! We had one meal at clubhouse and it was cold, sadly. The team were quite busy and would have benefited from a few more on shift. The menu is what you would expect for a clubhouse.
The beach is through the dunes with white sands and clear waters. It’s spectacular and has the wow factor as you emerge from the dunes. It wasn’t busy when we went but if it was there is so much beach that you would be able to find a spot to sit and enjoy easily without feeling it’s crowded.
The views are incredible either towards St Ives or the lighthouse.
There is a bus stop just down from the campsite entrance - bit of a walk depending on where your pitch is! But easy to visit St Ives. There is an extensive bus timetable booklet in reception or download the bus timetable app for the live updates etc. We used the bus and had a stress free journey and time in St Ives The bus we used had USB charging ports so great to get your phone ready for all the photo opportunities or the recharge on the way home!!
The site is a large one, predominantly static vans, but how we pitched and our views we didn’t notice this and it did feel like a smallish touring site. Don’t be put off by the large site the touring pitches are in a great location on site
Great base for exploring the area, especially with the bus stop nearby. We would visit again, especially with the price when we stayed with EHU, views and location.
Lots of opportunities for walking if that’s your thing, surf or just chill! Remember there is an enthusiastic sea breeze
Lots of wildlife to be seen onsite too
We didn’t use the WiFi so can’t comment on this.

Disliked: The prices of drinks in the clubhouse!
