Liked We have just got back from a 3 night break at Penwarne Campsite. I have stayed here before a couple of years ago. We all had a really fantastic time, the campsite was quiet and peaceful with fantastic views. Plenty of washing facilities, toilets, showers, pay for washer/dryers for clothes. There is a play park for children on site. It’s tucked away in a quiet spot with plenty of decent sized pitches that aren’t too close to each other. We got our large sized 6 man tunnel tent up with ample parking for the car right next to it and could have even had a pop up gazebo on it too and room for the dog to be tied on the lead to the ground.
The text from the owner on the day of the visit is a nice touch, we didn’t “check in” as such which wasn’t an issue as I knew where everything was from the previous visit. Nicola also let us know about the air show from the red arrows we missed it as we were out, but being Lincolnshire/Yorkshire based have seen them plenty of times.
All in all a fantastic visit we all love Cornwall and using this place as a base to go off exploring is ideal due to its location not far to Falmouth harbour, St Ives etc. Would highly recommend Porthcuno beach too about an hour from the site, literally like being abroad!!
Disliked The only down side was the 5 sec push button shower, really could do with some new shower valves as they should stay on longer than that (being a plumbing and heating engineer I would know) also could do with some detachable shower heads as the mrs didn’t want to get her hair wet and due to angle of the fixed heads you can’t contort yourself to not really get your hair wet. Only a small thing and easily changed. Was kind of hoping you would do the home made stone baked pizzas again from when we came last time :(

Penwarne NOT recommended due to very poor toilet, washing and showers.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The site in location, views and space.
Disliked The Toilets and Showers were abysmal. There were not enough of either for the number of customers. They were not well mantained or cleaned often enough. In some cases the lights where not working and the floors were consistantly pooled with water. For this reason, I would NOT recommend using Penwarne unless you have your own toilet and shower or washing facilities, especially those with families.
The Non-electric pitches are not level.

OK campsite if you don't mind people being right on top of you.
Powered grass campsite
Liked the toilet and shower blocks were ok, and having the use of washing machines, fridges etc was a good addition.
Location is great, views are good if people don't pitch up right on top of you.
Disliked some electric plots are back to back, and with people putting there tent/vehicle right at the boundary marker made it appear everyone was on top of each other.
the one in front of us were actually over the boundary marker, with them and their children kept coming onto our pitch. Not happy with this.
we felt too uncomfortable to sit outside out tent as it felt like we were intruding on their gathering, they had lots of people and cars there.
We did not feel comfortable staying so we decided to leave early.
The views were good until the people in front decided to put there van right at the boarder marker and block the views.
Did message owners but no response.

Liked Place is really relaxing and scenery from the camp is beautiful. Facilities are clean. Though some users are not that care enough to try not to make too much mess, especially in the toilet area. Lovely couple(Nicola& husband) . Hardworking and approachable. I will recommend this camp site.

Powered grass campsite
Liked I will list the items I liked.
1,Views from the site overview of the sea, 2,sheep are contained in the lower field no sheep on or near our pitch,
3,No problems with electricity hook up,
4, washing up facilities good,
5, washing machines and tumble dryer well priced.
6, toilets were clean and always had toliet paper.
7, showers were nice and warm and free of charge.
8, we used it as a base camp and was ideal for us.
9, lots of spare field space for the kids to have a run around and there is 2 football goals there.
10, nice local beach about 5 min drive and about 20min walk, better to drive if you have young children as parking is available at the beach not to badly priced.
Disliked 1,Shame the on site cafe was closed looks like its having a refit.
2, kids play park could do with new swings and monkey bars or hoops, but kids still made use of it and had fun.
3, lots of euro bins, but they were all full but was all emptied the following day think they are emptied fortnightly, but in fairness was not a major problem.
