What customers say
This tranquil, roomy site boasts lovely country views & a back-to-basics feel. Perfect for nature lovers/hikers, with direct South Downs Way access. Campfires allowed, cafe on-site. Facilities are generally clean, mainly portaloos/showers. Some found it pricey for basic amenities; a few mentioned occasional noise/facility issues, especially showers. Off-site parking required.

Amazing location. Good facilities.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Amazing location, plenty of space. We enjoyed watching the Ravens in the day time and listening to the owls at night. The dark sky was pretty impressive as well.
Disliked There really isn't much to dislike. Perhaps more shower facilities. It was OK when we stayed there in September because the site wasn't very busy but I imagine they could be busy when the site is fuller.

Primitive grass tent campsite (backpacker, no cars)
Liked Great location, great views, great host.
Lots of open space with undefined plots. Natural looking and fits well with the environment. Campfires allowed, fire wood sold by host who attends campsite each evening.
Showers clean and spacious with warm water. Toilets are portaloos but are clean, numerous, and well stocked.
Cafe on site with good variety of food and drinks.
Easy to find, location is well signed and is a good stopping point along the South Downs way. Bus stop right outside site also.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Nestled in a beautiful little valley, really quiet peaceful spot, only a couple of other's there when we went in early Sept. Great location for hiking along the Southdowns way with a really good café near enough on site. Owners were really friendly and chilled-out as well.
Disliked Not really that big of a deal but it's a fairly hilly site so there aren't loads of perfectly flat spots, but plenty of options if you don't mind a shallow gradient. Also means you won't wake up in a puddle!

Liked Gorgeous setting bang on the South Downs with a good coffee shop on site. Perfect for a group of friends (adults.) Showers warm and I liked the spacious set up - we never had to wait.

Definitely recommend and will be happy to come back
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great large area to pitch with easy access to toilets. You can access the South downs hike right from the entrance to the campsite and we got to see a stunning sunflower field just on the trail next to the camp(Thanks to Tania's recommendation). You can barbeque on the grass at your camp, just need to take a grill. Great that you could buy wood as well. Useful communication from Tania before and during the stay.
Disliked Was not a huge issue for us but only 2 showers so needed to choose a less busy time

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked A great find. I almost want to keep it quiet!
I don't actually want to leave anything negative.
The hosts were fantastic and the setting out of this world.
We will be back!
Disliked Just the 1 x shower is the only negative and having to take our rubbish home.
But, I knew this before I booked.
Next time we will bring cereals in plastic containers and try to do something to limit the plastic from the meats we are.
Cans can be easily crushed and wine can come in a carton, rather than a bottle!

Lovely campsite in a beautiful location, basic but clean facilities.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great location, beautiful scenery, freedom to choose own pitch, lots of space for children (and adults) to play, portaloos and water stations conveniently placed around the field, campfires allowed. South Downs Way comes past the site giving easy access to walks. Clear info from site owner.

Disliked Think its well over price You have to walk along way to your car as can't park near your pitch have to take all your rubbish home with you don't provide bins also shower Facilities are not very nice. Don't even have curtains up at the windows. Lock on door is not Secure And the shower curtains that are put into cubicles, are see through you can see the outline of your body. You get men showering and changing with the door unlocked It's not really a lock on the door it's a hatch on the inside food at the food van is overprice would not go back or Recommend.
