This family-run site is surrounded by scenic Surrey countryside, and yet it’s a mere half-mile from the little village of Seale and only a little further from the A31. All is peaceful and pretty at this site – pitches are part of a large field fringed by woodland, and they have stunning views over the Surrey Hills National Landscape. And if you fancy some more targeted relaxation, book yourself in at The Waggon Sauna on the estate for an additional fee; this off-grid woodfired sauna with cold water therapies has lush views of the hills and is just a short walk away. The staff at the Waggoners Campsite at Hampton Estate make an extra effort to create a friendly camping experience, with an emphasis on space, seclusion and escapism. This environmentally conscious spot also tries to minimise its impact on the planet, with green solutions like hand-made compost loos and cold wild woodland showers. The whole place is off-grid, so it might be a good idea to bring a torch along. Barbecues are permitted for alfresco cooking, and firepits are also available to hire. Fancy seeing some more of that lovely countryside? The site is on the North Downs Way, near the Surrey Cycleway and not far from several good places to take the dog for a walk too. Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Really spacious campsite, friendly welcome, best compost loos I have ever encountered. The facilities are fairly rustic (cold water) but there are plenty of sinks and toilets and they are really well maintained and thoughtfully designed.

Disliked Parts of the campsite are on a notable slope, but when I was there it wasn’t at all crowded and there were plenty of flat spots.

Liked There is space in the field, they don't pack it out. The loo's are great, the showers fabulous and the new sauna is stunning.
