What customers say
Praise for stunning, peaceful spot amid nature. "Back to basics" with no phone signal. Clean facilities, hot showers, friendly owners. Close to hikes & pub. Downsides: shower distance & wet weather ground.

Nice simple site
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Nice and simple. Facilities are modest but that’s ok - keeps the site to people who just want a low-key stay. Owner Daniel always pleasant.

Liked Great site, always come back here.
Facilities good. Showers good.
Bugs are rare here. Tent is mostly bug free and no bites :-)
Some great local walks from the campsite.
Disliked Every time i come here, the Pizza is not available - just bad timing I guess.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Nice large level pitch, well away from the main road, with option of car within easy reach. Lovely stretch of river, with great swimming spot by foot bridge. Helpful permissive path over bridge to Thorneywaite farm, avoiding walking along the road.
Disliked Off-site showers – not good to have to walk down the main road to find a shower.

Great base for walking and climbing. Suits small groups of tents.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Daniel who ran the site was lovely.
The site was a nice size and the river running along its boundary was lovely.
The showers were a good temperature and had great pressure.
The Yew Tree pub around the corner makes for the perfect restbite from the rain.
Disliked The site is split into pitches, some of which where a bit small and would benefit from being allocated.
Pitches did not easily accommodate a rooftop tent set up.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked A very peaceful spot along the banks of a soothing and beautiful river. Descent facilities without giving that feeling of being on a purpose built campsite.

Beautiful site with a fantastic host and excellent facilities.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We had the most amazing few days at seatoller! All the facilities were lovely and clean! I had seen a few reviews mention that the shower block was a walk from the site but personally loved that short walk (2/3 minutes) to the showers along the river and didn’t find it an issue at all! The host was so kind and welcoming, checking on guests everyday and was extremely accommodating. The local pub was fantastic and we had such wonderful food there! We also enjoyed walking to the fairy pools and found that the sites close proximity to those was just wonderful! We will definitely be coming again!
Disliked Nothing.
