What customers say
Enjoy a peaceful getaway with friendly owners and lovely country views. Choose your own spot & have campfires! Toilets & wash areas are clean, though some wished for showers. Great quiet spot near Manchester. Some uneven ground & a toilet cleanliness note, but many want to come back.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked simple campsite but overall a good weekend with the family. didn’t feel too crowded although someone did pitch right up against our tent for no reason.
good access to walking trails along the river which the kids enjoyed
Disliked only actual complaint - water pressure needs some adjusting as at times, nothing was coming out of the taps.
not the fault of the site but be aware of the noise from the planes coming and going from manchester airport from 6:15am.
Also someone blocked both outside sinks with sick on saturday night (which was just disgusting) and meant we couldn’t wash out pots and pans up.
road the site is a little bumpy

Liked The site was perfect for us, lots of space.
10min walk to shops, pub and local takeaways.
Facilities were basic but still more than adequate for what you need.
And the views were amazing. Felt a world away.

Great camp site. Very clean and upkept facilities. Friendly owners
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Back to basics camping with clean toilet block, facilities and friendly owners.
Friday was more relaxed with saturday a little louder to be expected.
Really great being able to turn up at any time and leave before 730pm. Gives you the most of your arrival day which was a huge benefit
Site offers an enclosed dog area for off lead play (Though I wasnt sure where this bit was unfortunately) perhaps I missed the signs.
I think i was also supposed to be in a dog friendly area of the site but was not aware of this through pitch up and couldnt spot any obvious signage on arrival but would like to make sure for future where this is.
Owners offer fire pits and kindling on site, though best to pre book but also allow for raised BYO fire pits and bbqs too.
It could be a good idea for a solo camping section/area but hopefully my next visit will be more of a success if im in the right section with my pup.

Primitive grass and earth campervan campsite
Liked I travel with my dog. We loved the surrounding countryside and the overall cleanliness of the site. Lovely couple who pop to check if you need logs and to answer any questions. I will book again but i will be more mindful where we park as at the bottom of th field is on a hill....not for me as struggled to get my van out!
Disliked The hill i parked on- still a lovely setting 😁
