  • Spacious site within Blakemere Village shopping and recreation centre
  • Microbrewery, falconry displays, adventure playground and restaurant
  • Within half an hour's drive of Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium
Calling all archers… also potters, shoppers and falcon fans… Blakemere Touring Caravan Park is a prime slice of Cheshire countryside, a few minutes’ drive from the village of Sandiway. You might never make it to Sandiway though, for this site is part of Blakemere Village, a top destination for shopping, noshing, market rummaging and experiences artistic and adventurous. Whereas your average village might contain a pub, a shop and a church, Blakemere has a shopping centre in a block of converted Edwardian stables, alongside a microbrewery and miniature railway. It might also be the only village where you can saunter from the archery range to an antiques market, or slot a falconry display alongside making and painting your own mugs... This is a well-maintained site with bright, roomy washrooms, hot showers and separate facilities for families. If you’re peckish, the restaurant is open from 8.30am until 5pm (later on certain evenings), and if you fancy dining outdoors, barbecues are allowed, pick up provisions at the shop and do your chopping, grating and dicing in the food prep area. The kids might be so chuffed with the adventure playground and the chillout games room that they offer to do the washing up… Dogs are welcome: the adjacent Mersey Forest makes a fine venue for walks with canine companions and there’s a tap to hand for the cleaning off of muddy paws.

Liked Friendly staff.
Facilities clean.
Pet friendly.
Location to us- straight roads as it was our first time towing/touring.

Disliked Very quiet, put in the paddock (2nd field).
Only 5 other caravans.
The odd motor home pulled on, stopped for a night then went.
Place had no atmosphere.
Blakemere shops aren't what you need everyday, so less than an hour's walk around- was done & dusted.
We originally booked here due to description stated there was a brewery (something different).. but its permanently closed.
The pub on the blakemere village only opens 2pm-7pm during the week.
The signal for tv/ radio / phone & wifi were pretty rubbish.
If it wasnt for blakemere village there wouldnt be nothing around, except another puh 1 mile down a busy A-Road.
We wouldnt go back to blakemere now we have done it.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay at Blakemere Holiday Park.

We are sorry to hear that your visit did not live up to your expectations. While many of our guests enjoy the peaceful nature of our paddock area, we completely understand that a quieter area isn't for everyone.

During the school holidays, the site experiences a lot of comings and goings throughout the week, making some periods much busier than others, and we regret that you felt the atmosphere was lacking during your specific stay with us.

We also want to apologize for any confusion regarding the brewery. While the brewery itself has been closed for a few years now, the Wee Howff micropub remains open on-site, serving craft beers, wine, and soft drinks. We have contacted Blakemere Village to ensure their marketing information is fully accurate to prevent future confusion. As an independent business, the Wee Howff operates from 2pm to 7pm mid-week and 12pm to 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, though these hours can vary depending on the season.

Finally, because we are situated in a rural Cheshire location, digital and TV signals can occasionally be impacted, though they do tend to be stronger in certain areas of the site. This is why we choose to provide our Wi-Fi connection completely free of charge to our guests.

We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us evaluate how we communicate what is available both on-site and in the surrounding area. We wish you all the best on your future travels.

Local attractions

With Blakemere Village containing days'worth of stuff to do and see, no-one would blame you for staying put and savouring it all... if you do fancy venturing further afield though, Cheshire is chock full of options... Perhaps the on-site birds of prey aviary and falconry displays have piqued your interest? If so, take a trip to Chester Zoo and its underwater equivalent, the Blue Planet Aquarium (both 25 minutes’ drive), for encounters furry, fanged and cute. For a closer look at wildlife, Wood Lane Nature Reserve and the nearby Fenn’s, Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses (50 minutes) draw birdwatchers and walkers in search of avocets and herons, adders and flesh-eating bog plants. If that sounds a bit alien, beetle over to Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre to take a look at the universe through the Lovell Telescope, or travel back to 13th-century times at Beeston Castle, both 25 minutes away. Don’t forget rock and pop history at The Cavern 50 minutes away in Liverpool, along with the Tate gallery, the busy waterfront and the ferries across the Mersey…
