Plush Ord House Country Park is set on 42 peaceful, tree-lined acres of private parkland at East Ord, within 10 minutes’ drive of gorgeous Northumberland countryside, historic Berwick-upon-Tweed and sandy Spittal Beach on the North Sea. It’s also easy to access for anyone travelling north or south, as the main A1 is just five minutes away. A whole bunch of facilities at this leafy, landscaped site will make life very easy for you indeed. Travelling with the kids? If your toddlers have energy to burn off, there’s a soft-play centre where they can have a run around, while older kids can keep busy on the playground, activity area and games field. If you’re after a bit of grown-up downtime, simply drift off to the elegant adults-only lounge bar for some peaceful R&R; otherwise head to the family-friendly main bar or book the informal Ord House Lounge Bar and Grill, where there’s a designated kids’ zone. Prettily landscaped pitches are all neatly delineated by clipped hedges. Practical on-site amenities include a laundry service with coin-operated washing machines and dryers, a dish-washing and veg-prep area, and pristine tiled showers in spacious family bathrooms with hair dryers and shaving points.

  • Reception is unmanned after 5 p.m.. Please inform the park while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.
  • A cable measuring at least 4 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Liked Beautiful scenic park with friendly staff.
Toilet/shower block well maintained and very clean.

Disliked Hard stand nowhere near level.
My wife and I would have liked to visit the bar, however dogs are not allowed.
Most of clients have dogs.
A policy change would surely enhance the profit margins.

Liked We arrived late as arranged and taken swiftly by the night porter to our pitch.
Great pitch close to hook up and water.
Toilet block is sensational, great power showers and spotlessly clear.
Staff at the bar friendly and great entertainment.
We had a great time.

FHU gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Award-winning toilet facilities…and great showers. Really impressive. Didn’t use bath, but good for kids. Good adventure playground and crazy golf for kids too. We stayed on fully serviced pitch, but option to fill up with water and use EHU-only pitches. Well laid out, gravel pitches. Good food, drink, and ambience at the Bar Grill. Liked the Adults-only bar. Good location for various bus routes into Berwick (10mins)

Liked Friendly welcome from night warden, late arrival. Very helpful and detailed booking in. Good sized pitches. Shower/washing up etc block very close. Shower etc block was very clean, warm, good size and unlimited hot water, hairdryers available in women’s side (can’t comment on men’s or family room)

Friendly bar/restaurant on site with family and adult only areas. Very reasonably priced food and drink, turn was on in family area Saturday night. Free wifi available in bar/restaurant. (Additional fee on pitch)

Our pitch was quiet, opposite the children’s play area and about a 30 second dash in the rain to the bar. Maybe not so quiet in summer when site is busier and bar veranda in use.

The site seemed quite quiet overall, probably time of year, November.

About a 10 minute drive to town where there’s free long stay disc parking by the city walls, no height restriction.

Sail forth onto the North Sea for dolphin-spotting expeditions or Farne Islands cruises to see puffins and seals from Seahouses (35 minutes). Happier on dry land?
