What customers say

Immaculately clean, well-kept site praised for peaceful vibe and spacious, level pitches. Owners Andrew & Sonia are very friendly & helpful. Info hut and great location with bus to York right outside are big pluses. Peacocks add charm. Basic facilities noted, but highly recommended!

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Nice quiet location with good size pitches surrounded by beautiful countryside
Andrew our host was fantastic. Really helpful and even took us to the outlet on Sunday as no buses run by the site into the city.

Disliked Tricky walk on a fairly busy road to river and nearest pub/restaurant

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The site was impeccably clean and tidy, although quite small, but perfect for our little break.
Andrew, the owner, was great met us on arrival, showed us to our pitch, and gave us some good local info. And he was often around during days times for a.chat, or any questions.
We would defo return, if looking in that area again.

Disliked Only slight negative about the site, is that it’s on a fairly busy road, usually rush hours, but, that being said, it didn’t spoil our stay, and soon just became background noise.

Liked A lovely little site just outside of York. The owner Andrew was friendly made us feel very welcome. The site has spacious pitches that are level, with wonderful views across the field with the beautiful evening sunset. We also had a visit from all the beautiful peacocks and peahens. We would definitely

Local attractions

To get out and about locally, there’s fishing available less than half a mile away, and horse riding two miles away; you could also easily head up to Naburn Marina (three miles away), where there’s boat hire and a café, or go for a stroll around Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens (five minutes’ drive). For more rural escapades, head over to Burnby Hall Gardens (half an hour) to wander through the Victorian Garden and Secret Garden and walk by the lakes – at their very best in midsummer, when more than 100 varieties of water lilies burst into bloom. A trip on the Yorkshire Wolds Railway (40 minutes) is a splendid way to see some more of the local scenery. Up for some urban time? York (15 minutes’ drive or bus ride) is top of the list for most – for minster visits, river cruises and shopping on The Shambles – but it’s worth taking a look at Selby (15 minutes) and Leeds (40 minutes) too if you’ve got a little more time on your hands.
