What customers say
This quiet, clean site boasts friendly owners, a beautiful rural setting, and private hot tubs with great views. Guests loved the peace and closeness to York. Facilities were mostly clean but basic/cold for some. Dog walking and limited showers/toilets at peak times were minor concerns for a few.

Liked The hot tub was nice. Clean and well explained.
We were basically the only people on the site due to time of year.
Disliked The female owner was very short and clipper on arrival in regards to how we arrived and drove in through the gate.
She had sent an email prior, although I appreciate a lengthy email covered all bases.
I was on holiday and was ignoring all emails!
potentially a larger sign on the gate would be better than a laminated white A4 sheet on white wall, especially as she stated we weren’t the first that day to drive straight in that day let alone the stressful season she seemed to have had.
The facilities were very basic. Not hot water to clean plates etc …:
I wonder if suitable if the site was full as one shower and one toilet.
We rang ahead to enquire about a plug so my partner could dry her hair.
The lady owner said no and the male owner called back (we rang the mobile and the home phone) and said we could borrow the hook up to plug adaptor.
When there was in fact a plug in the shower/ toilet block we could have used.
If we weren’t the only people on site we would have felt exposed in the hot tub. The fencing covers view from toilet block but not the rest of the site.

From the manager: Many thanks for your review.
Had you read our Pitchup listing correctly and taken note of the arrival confirmation email and gate signage your experience would have been very different.
My apologies, but as owners, it is not our responsibility to provide campers with electric cables for the purpose of hair drying. Those travelling with tents should pack accordingly.
Thank you again for your review 😁
Loved our stay
Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite (superior, hot tub)
Liked Beautiful surroundings & loved our Woodfired hot tub - what a treat after a very active few days in Yorkshire to rest our weary bones !!
Friendly host who carefully explained everything on arrival and had provided everything we needed to enjoy the hot tub, then left us in peace to enjoy our stay.
One shower & loo - great for us as we were the only ones there , rustic but lovely and plenty of room, electric shower so no annoying 10seckbd push button 🙌
York is about 20-30 mins away by taxi depending on traffic - Uber cost us £18 each way.
There is a local training running at the far end of the fields - it really doesn’t bother you as only one or two an hour.

Liked Great pitch close to the toilet and shower. Loved the hot tub
Disliked No running hot water other than shower so had to wash my face with cold water.
Quite a walk to closest shop:pub along a main road.
Noisy train track which went through the night very close.

From the manager: Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us.
The centre of the village is no more than a 15/20 minute walk away. It is only the first 200 yards where visitors need to walk on the wide grass verge. From then on there are normal footpaths. Your comments regarding this are a little misleading.
Whilst there is a train track to the bottom of the farm (approximately 200 metres from the campsite), it is not main line and it certainly does not operate 'through the night'. The last train is approximately 10:15pm. Not too late in the grand scheme of things.
You have marked us down for child friendlyness. Understandable as we do not advertise that the hot tub pitches are for children. The hot tubs are far deeper than a conventional tub and can get quite hot - so no place for children. However, the main campsite with grass and hard standing pitches is child friendly with plenty of space for children to play and families are only a ten minute drive from York centre where they can enjoy some of Europe's best visitor attractions.
Thank you once again for taking the time to review us.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite (hot tub)
Liked Hot tub (super clean), views, tranquility, simplicity, easy access to water, disposal of grey and black, bins and easy access to toilet and shower. Site also very easy to locate.
We had a lovely, enjoyable 4 night stay. Glorious weather and you couldn’t fault the private hot tub, it was so clean and very relaxing. Kim and Graham were lovely hosts. Very accommodating, informative, welcoming and very friendly. A beautiful site with wildlife and it was so quiet and peaceful. 2 lovely pubs within walking distance (20 mins). A 10 minute walk to golf club bar. York was a beautiful place to visit which was only a short £10 uber drive. I would highly recommend this site. We will definitely be returning again soon.

Amazing and Relaxing
Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite (superior, hot tub)
Liked Booked a weekend away with my partner for one of our birthdays, the place was peaceful and quiet which is what we wanted also got engaged here. The hot tub was an easy use and very relaxing. After hearing about the animals in the fields we were able to see deer at half 4-5am across the fields The owners were very helpful and on call 24/7 if needed. shower block and toilet were always clean every time we used them. We Would definitely book here again. Thank you again
