  • Family park a few miles from the beach
  • Well-stocked fishing lake on site
  • Pool, sauna, steam room, indoor/outdoor play and bar-restaurant
Don’t forget your bucket and spade… a golden sandy beach is a short drive from Sand-le-Mere Caravan & Leisure Park… The beach is only the beginning at this smart family site, where the owners have invested £4 million on a swish range of activities and facilities. Tiddlers, small sorts and bigger kids will all be sorted at the indoor heated pool with a kids' splashzone and waterslide, or at the indoor soft play areas and the outdoor adventure playground. There are also pool tables and amusements for indoor family competitions. And for the grownups? Well, they might care to simmer gently in the sauna and steam room, or spend some time with their fishing kit. Anglers are excellently catered for here: a coarse fishing lake is on site, and the stretch of coast from Bridlington to Spurn Point is so famed for fishing that Sand-le-Mere hosts the annual European Beach Fishing Championships… Whatever you opt for, collect the kids for an evening in the bar-restaurant, where there's also Sky Sports, a café and takeaway.

What customers say

Great seaside spot, lovely beach. Friendly staff, spacious sites, great pool. Kids loved the entertainment & crafts. However, toilet/shower blocks need a serious clean & update. Restaurant food & prices hit or miss. Still a good family pick for many.

Camping pod

Liked The pod was nice but very basic.

Disliked Wait time on overpriced food then it arrived cold .

Washing up and shower facilities poor. I thought they would have had a room with a fridge etc , microwave for communal use.

Liked Great to have the en-suite as I can go for a wee as often as I like ,, every 20 mins it seems!!! after my prostate treatment, and great to have enough room to swing your arms about in a piping hot shower ,

Disliked Not really dislike, but clubhouse was a bit loud and booming , why have it cranked up to full blast ,, can't talk ,it's either shout ,or hand signals 😁 and last week we had 🌧️ rain thunder/ ⚡ lightning, hailstones, and very windy ,but you can't help the weather and overall a great time away,

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (premium)

Liked We really liked the swimming pool & slide facilities , the crafts area was amazing 🤩 my granddaughter really enjoyed painting a piece of pottery . That kept her entertained for a couple of hours.
Restaurant was a bit pricey , but very enjoyable.
Seating area inside & out was very inviting.
Play ground area kept the kids entertaining for ages , with lots to do .
Our pitch was large enough for the motorhome, and awning. Liked how the hedges separated each pitch .
Evening entertainment in the club was enjoyable.
Beach was a stones throw away 👍along the top of the cliffs , but had to be careful getting onto the beach . No disabled access.

Disliked sadly 😧we were unable to put the annex on as the waste grate was towards the back of the pitch in the middle , which would have resulted in the annex covering the grate . We had to ask for maintenance to unblock the grate about 4 days into our holiday.
So good job we couldn’t put the annex up anyway.
Toilet block was very old & really is in need of refurbishing ( not on touring field) so had to walk 300 yards.
Needless to say we all showered in the disabled toilet , which was a little better but was in need of t l c !
don’t think it was cleaned every day .
Not too keen on the bingo situation . ( all other park holiday sites involved) . Too like going to gala bingo . Fishing pond not big enough and not a lot of parking.there was other ponds but not to fish , which was a shame and nearer to touring pitch .

Local attractions

York’s many attractions cater to all tastes: history hounds, culture vultures, wannabe Vikings, shopaholics, and train- and plane- spotters. Scale the soaring heights of the Minster, plough the gory depths of the dungeons, or lose all sense of direction in the massive York Maze… Hull (35 minutes' drive) is well worth a visit, for its fab aquarium, transport and maritime museums, Ferens Art Gallery, and William Wilberforce House. Visitors can also go messing around on various boats, including the Spurn Lightship, and then there’s the ice rink, great shopping, theatres and more. Another recommendation is to work your way along the Yorkshire coastline, to sample the spooky drama of Whitby Abbey, the classic seaside attractions of Scarborough, and the beaches at Bridlington and Hornsea. Nature buffs can make for the huge white cliffs of Flamborough Head, home to thousands of nesting seabirds; other options for ornithologists include the North Cave Wetlands, or Spurn Point. For the kids, try Flamingo Land theme park, get out the wellies for a trip to Honeysuckle Farm in Hornsea, or let them Go Ape in the treetops in Dalby Forest. The area is peppered with golf courses and equestrian centres too: for something a bit different, guests can book in for a beginner’s polo lesson at Beverley Polo Club nearby. Other options include sailing, rowing, fishing and boat tours at Hornsea Mere (30 minutes), taking in a footie or rugby match in Hull, or feeling lucky (perhaps) at the horse racing of York and Beverley.
