  • Peaceful adults-only site two miles from the Norfolk Broads
  • A 15-minute drive from Norwich city centre; 25 minutes from the coast
  • Atmospheric night-time vibes from lit woodlands; café and farm shop
If boating on The Broads has long been on your bucket list, take a look here: the dog-friendly Black Barn Farm is a peaceful place to pitch up two miles from the edge of the national park. Here, the adults-only pitches are in a 22-acre field in an established orchard and surrounded by woodlands, making for a rather chilled-out stay. This area is known as the big sky country, so splendid sunsets and lights in the trees create a pretty nice night-time vibe. You’ll be able to kick off the evening with a firepit or barbecue too, as both are permitted on site. A 15-minute drive from Norwich, this site is on the edge of Salhouse, a rural Broads village. So, bridleways and footpaths may be the first thing to capture your attention, as they lead the way to walking, wildlife spotting and canoe hire in the Salhouse Broad – or there's a place to launch your own canoe or paddleboard, two miles away from the site. Convenience is key at this site, starting with the toilets and showers inside the barn, all heated with auto light switches for that extra ease. The barn also has a small farm shop and a café that serves up sizeable breakfasts plus sandwiches and snacks. Nearby, a train station and bus stop are within walking distance with regular services to Norwich city centre or the coast. Foodie? The local food shop is a 20-minute walk away along a public footpath (or a five-minute car journey). For more specific bits, there’s a bigger supermarket 10 minutes’ drive away and beer aficionados will find a brewery and pub five minutes’ drive away too.

Liked Modern facilities , very clean. Pitches well spaced and level. Cafe and shops are popular but site is very quite outside of these times. Great Pub in the village within walking distance and can avoid the road mostly by taking a decent footpath.

Liked Quiet.
Having water on pitch
somewhere to have breakfast in the morning
Large pitch to ourselves separated by hedge

Disliked Electricity point didn’t work, we did try it in 3 points on site we thought it was our electric extension cable and we left after 1 night as it was so cold and we couldn’t use our heater
However arriving home our extension worked maybe it was something we needed on site assistance with, but no persons around to ask.
We could have rung the site to be fair but we assumed it was our cable

Liked We love it here, have stayed numerous times but this our first Christmas time away and it was wonderful. Listening to the owls at night and pheasants, partridges and birds walking across our pitch every day was wonderful. Site clean and staff always helpful but unobtrusive

Liked The large pitch. Having water and waste on the pitch. The toilets and showers. The peace and quiet. The host was welcoming and helpful.

Disliked No pavement to the pub! But that's not the site's fault

Liked The site was quiet at night

Disliked As people have already stated, there is no reception - we didn't see any staff during the stay. Grass was long and overdue a cut. The location of the bins was not marked, the washing up area was still under construction and not very welcoming, toilet and shower facilities were clean but shared with the farm shop so a little strange. The site itself was tucked away behind the shop in a corner of the site with no signage to it
The whole site seemed to be like an add onto the farm shop and half finished, everything was there but in a very disorganised manner which led to not a very welcoming feel.

Liked Great site 👍🏻, good size level pitches , great cafe and shops on site , friendly staff very welcoming alot less regimented than club sites
Water to pitch we had which is always a bonus
Easy walk to station and we caught train in to Norwich which is less than 15 mins away
Nice local pub , though no pavement for some of the road and a torch required in the dark
Other improvements ongoing so it will only get better
Will be back

Liked Proximity to Station.

Disliked The facilities seems to be still under construction but we don’t think there will be enough toilets and showers when the site is full. The grass on the pitches was too long considering the recent rain.
