  • Near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads
  • Two parks in one: family-oriented and more quiet sections
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, gym, crazy golf, bar and restaurant
If you can’t decide whether to opt for an idle break or something a bit more lively, then have the best of both at Breydon Water Holiday Park, near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads. It’s essentially two parks in one: the first is Yare Village, for those looking for an active, family-oriented vibe, with its toasty outdoor pool (open from May to September, weather permitting), crazy golf, and a buzzing schedule of sports, kids’ activities and evening entertainment. Just 10 minutes’ walk away is the more sedate Bure Village, where there’s an indoor pool and a fully-equipped gym. The site also has wifi in the Waterside bar and restaurant.

Liked: There was nothing to like to be honest. There was a nice walk near castle ruins, and I guess that is all. They had playground, it was ok.

Disliked: Recently I stayed in few places, including another one of the parkdean resorts in isle of wight, which was very nice to stay. Unfortunately when I arrive to this place, I realised I made a mistake, but it's been paid for, so I had to stay. The park was run down to put it gently, tent pitches were so close together and literally adjacent to the toilets. Entertainment was pathetic. The people singing was very bad. Also park was full of chavs who would make noise and watch TV so laud till past midnight that sleeping was out of question. Considering, I paid over 90 pounds for two nights! This was beyond disappointing. Never again.

Disliked: Very noisy, seems to be no rules regarding quiet time. Tent’s playing loud music till 1am and smoking drugs, security informed but nothing seemed to be done about it.

Liked: Lovely site, good facilities. Staff are so friendly and helpful. WiFi extra cost. Lovely meal at the restaurant, good beer and good value. Booked for 3 nights, then decided to stay 3 more.

Disliked: During our stay, it rained a lot, resulting in some muddy patches on the pitches.

Liked: Sorry nothing..tired run down site..electric hook up didn't work in our allocated spot had to charge from another unit luckily we had a long lead..

Disliked: Whole site looks tired from when you drive in to the pitch and put which was embarrassing..so many people complaining in reception about vans not being ready and one poor site owner who told me she pays about 5,000 in fees forgot her passes but still had to pay 20.00 for new ones..absolutely diabolical.

Local attractions

Great Yarmouth, a short drive away, has masses of attractions – too many to list here, but to give you an idea: the Sea Life aquarium, the exhilarating indoor circuit at Karting 2000, mini choo-choos and tiny townsfolk at Merrivale Model Village and Gardens, and the Elizabethan House Museum, where visitors can don Tudor fashions and find out what life was really like below stairs for Victorian scullery maids. There are more than 50 acres of adrenaline rides, plus parrot and sea lion shows and an Alpine chair lift at Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft. For those seeking more genteel pursuits, also near Lowestoft is Somerleyton Hall, a Tudor-Jacobean pile with pleasure gardens and a maze, home to the Crossley Carpets dynasty. Drive a little further and you can explore the wetlands and waterways of the Norfolk Broads, or head south to gorgeous Southwold and Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
