  • Family-run site in the Malvern Hills, a 10-minute drive from Ledbury
  • Eastnor Castle 10 minutes’ drive; Worcester half an hour
  • On-site fishing lakes; dogs on lead welcome; nearby hiking trails
Literally on the edge of the Malvern Hills National Landscape (cross the B4208, and you’re within the boundaries of the protected area), family-run Kings Green Caravan Park is part of a working farm a 10-minute drive from Ledbury. This is a spectacular patch of Worcestershire countryside, with gentle hills, fields dotted with sheep and arable land all around. All of which is an oblique way of saying that it’s pretty quiet around these parts and that your sleep should be undisturbed by traffic noise or noisy neighbours. With the Malvern Hills well within your sights, chances are you can’t wait to lace up your boots, and with several trails starting directly from the site, you’re in for many long days of exploration. Your dog (who’s welcome at the site, as long as you keep it on a lead) should also be happy with the exercise on these hikes, which might take you to places like Golden Valley nature reserve (about an hour on foot, or five minutes by car) – or to cosy country pubs like the one in Berrow (35 minutes’ walk or a five-minute drive). Hiking not your jam? Maybe you prefer a more sedentary pursuit? The site has two fishing lakes, where (for a small daily fee) you can try catching carp, roach and other species. There's a well-maintained toilet and shower block (plus facilities for disabled guests), a washing-up area and a launderette with tumble dryer and iron. Shower tokens are required to use the shower, and there's also a cash deposit required for the toilet and shower block keys. If you need to use the laundry or the washing-up area, you will also need to pay in cash.

What customers say

This well-maintained site has spacious, level pitches and very clean washrooms with pleasant music. Guests love the friendly staff and peaceful atmosphere. Fishing is popular. While dog-friendly, designated exercise areas are absent, and some feel it’s better for couples/older visitors due to limited kid's activities. Shower tokens and key deposits are standard; some report issues with shower temp or token use.

Liked This was our second visit, and we loved it just as much as the first. We received such a warm and friendly welcome, and the whole site is immaculate and incredibly well maintained. The toilets and showers were always spotless, and it's a small touch, but I really love that there's music playing in the toilet block—it makes such a difference!

We stayed as a small group of family and friends and had a little field to ourselves, and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind for the weekend. We were also blessed with beautiful weather, which made it even more enjoyable.

The surrounding countryside is stunning, and I'd definitely recommend taking a trip to Upton-on-Severn, which is only about 15 minutes from the campsite. It's a lovely place to explore and well worth a walk around.

We'll definitely be returning again. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Liked Its a very nice peaceful site maintained to a high standard. This was our 3rd visit. Was hoping the temperature on the showers would have been reduced but no they were still boiling hot not all people want a scalding hot shower. People on the site also had issues with how hot the showers were.

Disliked The only thing that really spoilt it was the showers. I don't mind it costing 50p it's the fact there is no heat control it is just boiling hot i could not get under the shower because how hot it was. I think there should be a heat regulator so you can add cold water. Also i don't see why I have to pay a £5 deposit for a key to the showers as the doors were open all the time anyway i doubt if I will return again due to the issues with the showers.

Liked Well maintained site, very clean toilets and showers. All facilities close to hand.

Disliked Toilet/shower block being kept locked, can’t see the need for this in a very rural position.
Lack of a dog walk/exercise area on site is disappointing as cars travel past quite fast.

Liked Friendly service, great pitch size, spotlessly clean with clean amenities. Lovely spot, not much to do as we didn’t have use of our vehicle due to having a roof tent and awning attached but it was only a stop off so we were just happy relaxing in the sun.

Liked Neat and tidy super friendly check in

Disliked Key entry system to facilities seems a bit daft. If its occupied the door is unlocked anyway?
Little bit souless. No dedicated dog exercising area, perhaps don't accept dogs?

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Beaut location right by Malvern hills and facilities brilliant. Have to pay for a shower but wasn’t worst one I’ve ever had.

Disliked Owner was abit bristly. Told us to to camp on a specific numbered pitch which we couldn’t find so perched up in a spot by our own out the way (was the only non-caravaner there). Didn’t think was an issue until a passive aggressive remark at the end when leaving. Ample space for everyone and all other campers seemed fine with us. Also asked to use mains socket to blow up mattress and felt like I asked to sign her will away.

I don't understand why theres a extra 50p change for the showers.

Liked It was clean and tidy. The owners was polite. It isn't a place for kids its more for the older generation. 😃

Disliked If you are camping ther is a limited space because of the electrics hook ups are to far apart and you need about a 40 metre extension lead. And there need to be a couple of bins around the fishing lakes.

Local attractions

The magnificent rooms of 19th-century Eastnor Castle (10 minutes’ drive) are hung with enormous chandeliers and adorned with portraits, rich tapestries and decorative objects. Herds of red deer inhabit the surrounding grounds, which also host medieval re-enactments, firework displays and other events. Stretching along the banks of the Severn, Worcester (half an hour) has a splendid 11th-century cathedral with a Gothic nave and colourful stained-glass windows. You can learn all about the city’s production of porcelain in the Museum of Royal Worcester, while the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum has displays on the renowned local sauce. The cathedral in Gloucester (half an hour) is famed for its connection to Harry Potter (several film scenes were shot in the elegant cloister). The city, which is England’s most inland port, is also worth a visit for its Victorian docks, where former warehouses now shelter independent shops, lively cafes and institutions like the National Waterways Museum.
