  • Worcestershire meadow campsite on the edge of the Cotswolds
  • A 10-minute drive to Broadway, and 20 minutes to Cotswold Farm Park
  • Woodland den, walks straight from site; 10 minutes’ stroll to the pub
Fancy a walking holiday or perhaps some time spent exploring spectacular Worcestershire castles? Need to keep the kids entertained? Cotswold Nights Away is a great spot for all this – plus the spirit of adventure that comes with a wild-camping-style break on the edge of the Cotswolds near Evesham. There’s plenty of room on the field itself for impromptu games of football, and adjoining the pitches is a small woodland available for dog walking and family games of hide and seek. A den sits among the trees, kitted out with a sofa and boardgames to keep everybody entertained. The local village of Ashton under Hill (10 minutes’ walk) has a pub and food delivery service, and the mellow-stone Cotswolds village of Broadway (10 minutes’ drive) is packed with indie shops and delis for barbecue supplies. If you fancy eating out, there’s a destination restaurant there as well as plenty of traditional pubs to choose between. Basic facilities on the open camping field include a well-maintained shower and toilet block with a washing-up station, plus ice-pack freezing and a communal fridge. Firepits are available for use, (no charge) and thoughtful onsite extras include flowerpots full of herbs for guests to use on their barbecues.

What customers say

This well-kept campground has roomy, flat sites and a laid-back vibe, great for families. Guests rave about the plentiful toys and games for kids, plus the spotless washrooms. While some note occasional traffic noise from the nearby A46, the site's usually peaceful. It's handily located for exploring, with a local pub nearby. Some visitors mention potential lineups for the single shower at busy times.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Nice flat field, plenty of space. Kids toys were great, had everything we needed. Facilities (2 toilets, 1 shower) basic but clean, well run site.

Disliked If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, the A46 nearby is noisy at night.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Quiet (could hear traffic on A46 but was not close enough to bother me).
Clean. Flat. Short grass. Footpaths directly from site for walks.

Disliked Although there were recycling bins, I couldn't find a general waste bin nor a dog poo bin.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Very clean facilities with toilet roll and hand soap.
Wide open camping area with ability to park next to your pitch.
Quiet and tranquil other than the usual slight road noise which wasn’t an issue for us.
Close to village pub which had excellent food.

Disliked Some of the toys on site were dangerous for toddlers as they were broken, but whilst we were there saw older children abusing those small ride ons / bikes / small cars / scooters which was sad to see.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely site with lots of toys, bikes and games for kids. Really liked how you were left to do your own thing but also had a contact number if there was any problems.

Disliked Could do with an extra shower and the door on the shower is a little bit cracked so doesn't feel very private.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked This is our second visit in the last 12 months. It’s not been too busy either time, and is well maintained and relaxed. It’s a large field and so families playing ball games or children riding bikes around don’t cause any disruption. Seems to attract other friendly campers.
Lying on the border of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire means lots of places are within a short drive (although being reasonably local we haven’t really ventured away from the site)

The National Trust-owned Hidcote (25 minutes) has flower-filled gardens to wander, and you can take tractor tours at Cotswold Lavender (20 minutes) to see lavender blooming in the fields (summer only). For unusual animal encounters, join alpacas on a countryside trek from Middle England Farm Alpacas (35 minutes). There are rare-breed cattle, pigs and sheep at Cotswold Farm Park (20 minutes), home of ‘Countryfile’ presenter Adam Henson, and at All Things Wild (15 minutes), kids can pet lambs (in season), take mini-train rides and drive a mini-digger.
