Luxury Camping at Woodhouse Farm

If you can bear to be separated from your luxurious accommodation, there is plenty to keep everybody happy hereabouts. Take the kids to meet the giraffes and drive through the lion enclosure at West Midlands Safari Park (15 minutes’ drive), where you can easily spend a day. There’s more animal shenanigans to be had at Rays Farm Country Matters (10 minutes), where you can feed deer and pigmy goats. For activity-filled days out in the open air, try canoeing on the River Severn (10 minutes), or take to the treetops on rope courses at Go Ape Wyre Forest. On days when all you fancy is a quiet woodland stroll, head for Wyre Forest Visitor Centre (both 15 minutes) for nature trails through the arboretum. And to learn about local history on your glamping break, the Norman remains at Ludlow Castle are open for exploration, and themed medieval days are hosted there too, with bird of prey displays and jousting tournaments. Don’t miss the Victorian streets and shops at the Ironbridge Gorge Museums (40 minutes), where you can head underground on a guided tour of the Tar Tunnel.
