  • Well-maintained adults-only Cotswolds campsite in rural Oxfordshire
  • Half an hour’s drive to Warwick Castle; Stratford-upon-Avon 25 minutes
  • Secure site with landscaped pitches; pub and shop five minutes’ drive
If you’re something of a wildlife fan or indeed just fancy somewhere peaceful and adults-only to bed down in Cotswolds countryside, Crofts Barn, a 20-minute drive from the market town of Banbury, in Oxfordshire, may be the spot for you. Life on site is quiet enough for you to hear the birds singing and the crickets chirping – and on summer evenings, you may well hear badgers grunting in the fading light. Deer, muntjac, squirrels and rabbits often put in an appearance too. And that’s before you take the livestock into account: in neighbouring fields, you can often watch the antics of the horses and cheeky goats. Access to the pitches (which are neatly mowed areas on a ridge-and-furrow meadow) is through a digitally locked gate, so you can be sure of a high level of security. Solar lights illuminate the short walk to the toilet/shower block, so you don’t have to look for a torch in the middle of the night if you need the loo. There’s a village shop in Tysoe (five minutes’ drive), which should have pretty much everything you need on the foodie front – and there’s a pub if you fancy a crafty pint. Since guests are not permitted on site, you’ll want to meet family and friends in the local coffee shops and pubs in the area. Want to get out and about exploring the Cotswolds by car, on foot or by bike? Or are you content to sit and chill on site? At Crofts Barn, you have the chance to do either one – or a bit of both…

The View primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Lovely well maintained site. Toilet and shower were spotless! We had a beautiful view across the hills from our pitch. We loved the cheeky goats and seeing the horse. Site felt very safe and secure with electric double gates on enrty. Site is very quiet and peaceful, a great place to relax. Lots of wildlife in the area to.

Disliked: Nothing

The View primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: One of the best campsites I’ve stayed at in a long time! Beautiful spaced out pitches with a view over the fields. Spotlessly clean facilities and grounds whilst maintaining a natural feel. There are even some goats to make friends with! Really welcoming owner who was friendly and accommodating, making sure I had everything I needed.

Disliked: The one very minor point is that the showers are a set temperature. This usually wouldn’t bother me but in a 30 degree heatwave I was craving a cold shower!

The View primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Super clean, quiet and beautiful private pitches a lovely location. So pleased we stayed here. Our doggo loved it too… even if she was a tad nervous of the 4 friendly goats at first… she was soon touching noses with them whilst they enjoyed an ear scratch! Would 100% come again!

The View primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Toilets, showers and kitchen was very clean and spotless!!!

Disliked: Disappointed owner did not greet us or help us with local attractions. No firepits available and with only 2 toilets there were queues, suggest they consider separating showers from toilets.

The Dingles powered grass campervan campsite

Liked: Absolutely everything! We pitched in The Dingles in our Campervan. We arrived on Friday , just before the heavens opened so sat in our van enjoying a drink and watching the weather. The pitch was huge .The toilet and shower facilities were spotless , lots of walking routes from the site but also a lovely spot to enjoy the animals and the peace while reading a book. We truly didn’t want to leave.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing!
