Holly Tree Park And Fish

  • Riverside park in the grounds of a 16th-century country pub
  • A 10-minute drive from Skegness and 15 from the Lincolnshire Wolds
  • Fishing lake passes for an additional fee
This may be rural Lincolnshire, but Holly Tree Caravan Park and Pub is a mere 10-minute drive from Skegness for adventures by the sea. This touring park sits on the banks of the river Steeping, and anglers take note – there's also a lovely (and adults-only) fishing lake well stocked with various species, including large tench, bream and carp. Lake fishing passes can be purchased for an additional fee. And if you’re not into angling, the lake is still a scenic spot in which to pass some time or walk the dog while keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife like deer, owls and kingfishers. Guests are welcome to launch a canoe or paddleboard on the river for a paddle, too. Continue your explores by heading out into the local area; there are plenty of cycle tracks and country walks nearby. For ventures further afield, the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape is a 15-minute drive away. When you're not angling or out exploring the Wolds or the coast, settle in for cosy evenings at the on-site pub (open during the evening at weekends, from March until the end of November only). The traditional place dates back to the 16th century and has an open fire and an outdoor seating area. (Please note that food is not served at Holly Tree Caravan Park and Pub.) The amenities on site include showers, toilets and a washing-up area; barbecues are permitted.

What customers say

Owners are friendly, facilities clean, and the vibe is peaceful. Pitches are lovely, close to Skegness. Some found dishwashing hot water and shower temps inconsistent. Limited toilet paper & no hand soap. Maggot racing and the pub were fun.

Powered cement/asphalt RV campsite (waterside)

Liked Just had a great 3 day stay at Holly Tree Park and fishery, on a waterside hardstanding it gives you really easy access for fishing. We caught loads of fish with 50-60 Carp and F1's. The site is run by family staff who all are so friendly had helpful. The showers and toilets were very clean and worm. There is also a pub on site which was great fun and friendly

FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely to meet the owners and they were very helpful in taking the payment promptly as I was going to be exiting the site early mornings and arriving back late in the evening. Lovely location, very quiet with all the amenities, water, electric and waste. The shower and toilets were clean, with shower having great water pressure. The phone signal and wi fi is very poor, take a book and unwind away from the tech. It was also lovely to see people had there pets with them.

Disliked The approach roads are very bumpy, you can't travel over 25 miles per hour, I understand this is not the fault of the site, but be warned, it was expected and highlights what a local council should be attending to, in order to help businesses such as this.

Liked The security of the site and the staff were friendly

Disliked No hand soap in the toilets or running hot water and minimal toilet roll was supplied daily ( luckily we bought our own but not everyone does), the shower facilities although very spacious lacked water pressure, I feel with a bit of focus in these areas this would be a really nice site to stay on.

Liked Lovely peaceful countryside. Loved the wandering ducks from the fishing pool. Clean facility's. Close proximity to Skegness.

Disliked Only 1 toilet for women, when gents had 2 cubicles and 3 urinals. Family shower rooms are in the caravan field. But guessing the toilet situation is because it's a fishing pool? Could do with a light over washing up area.

Local attractions

You won’t be short of things to do in Lincolnshire when bedding down at this park. For starters, it’s a 10-minute drive from the 18th-century Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens, as well as being the same distance from the Bengal tigers and 100 parrot species at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park. Spot more creatures – this time of the underwater sort – at Skegness Aquarium (15 minutes), lingering for longer in the town to take in the model village as well. Adrenaline-seekers can saunter over to the Pleasure Beach FairGround (20 minutes) afterwards for rollercoaster rides by the beach. Fantasy Island theme park (20 minutes) is another place to get your thrills, and those more interested in sedate times can have a gentle jaunt on the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway (20 minutes) instead. If you’re not done with animal attractions, head to the Natureland Seal Sanctuary, pet the barnyard critters at Hardy's Animal Farm and see specimens from faraway climates at the ARK wildlife park & exotic animal sanctuary (all 20 minutes).
