  • Well-kept level 20-acre site 10 minutes' walk from Fleet Hargate
  • A 20-minute drive to Spalding; bus stops in the village
  • Café on site with homemade cakes and summer weekend events
Whether you want to sun yourself on the grass or angle at the water, Lawns and Lakes Camping and Caravanning is a peaceful and well-maintained 20-acre site from which to do both (or nothing at all) among the lovely Lincolnshire countryside... If you’d rather just use the place as a base, that’s no problem either: access to the site – a 10-minute walk from the village of Fleet Hargate and 20 minutes’ drive from Spalding – is straightforward as it’s a short detour from the A17. Roaming on foot is a cinch too – just unhook the gate and wander out onto surrounding paths for a stroll. Any four-legged travellers that have come along for a break can stretch their paws at the site’s dog walking area, half a mile of dog-oriented space with bins for the inevitable mess. Park owners Nigel and Tracy have set their place up to make sure the local wildlife’s just as happy as the guests: there are trees and shrubs all around, along with wildflower meadows that are popular with woodpeckers, kingfishers and other birds. The park’s two fishing lakes are stocked with carp, bream, tench, roach and rudd, and ducks often stop by too. You’re also likely to meet the family’s flock of hens, whose goings-on are most amusing at feeding time. For eats, you may like to set up a barbecue or wander to the village pub or farm shop; treats are to be had closer to home at the site’s Sweet Delights Café, which serves up hot drinks, homemade cakes and ice cream sundaes with a side order of entertainment on selected weekends. A bus stop service is available on site through a call connect service or via a short stroll to the village.

Liked: The owners were really friendly and helpful. The Barn was great. Lovely fish and chips on the Friday evening.
The showers were powerful and private. The large block of showers were better than the 2 block as had better mirrors lots of hooks to hang clothes.
Lovely grounds to walk around. We found the pub in the local village Rose and Crown. The landlord and locals were very friendly and food good.
We caught the local bus which was a good service in Long Sutton. Really enjoyed our stay

Liked: Tracy was amazing so was the cleaner she stayed on top of the showers and toilets. I can't remember what the gentleman's name that was so helpful on arrival and when it came to fishing was also helpful. Food that was served in the barn was amazing.

Disliked: dogs not on the leads was our only issue and they went round asking the site to keep them on leads

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review and kind comments which are very much appreciated and will be passed on to the relevant team members, Nigel was the gentleman that greeted you on arrival. We were sorry that other guests chose to ignore the rules when it came to dogs on leads, Nigel asked them to put them on the leads on serval ocassions and explained that they were on their final warning - needless to say any future bookings from this guest will be refused. We dont like to go down this route but dogs are required to be on leads in any public space we are not dog haters we have one of our own, that is why we planted the 1/2 mile dog walk - please be assured that this will not happen again, and we very much look forward to your return.

Liked: Everything. Lovely site, lovely owners. Lakes tobwalk round. Lovely bar area. Very clean

Disliked: Lack of water access. Only one tap for about 20 caravans and tents.

From the manager: Thank you for your wonderful review Maximum Score and kind comments - I have checked where abouts you were on our site and perhaps you hadnt realised that there were more water taps at the back of you on the other side of the hedge. Looking forward to welcoming you again

Disliked: website says walks from site but owner said there weren't any, fishing expensive and nobody was catching anything

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, sorry I dont know who you spoke to but we are in open country side with plenty of walks, we have a 1.5 mile walk from the back of the site around the country lanes back in through the front entrance, for the more adventurous you can walk down to the marshes an 8 mile walk, fishing is priced at £10 per day which is inline or cheaper than many other locations, unfortunately we cannot be responsible for fishing level of expetise, bait used or climate conditions all which play a considerable factor, we have many fishermen that return week on week with no complaints, we are not a commercial fishery we are an amenity fishery we are not overstocked nor over fished - our fish are quality specimens.

An excellent, well-maintained site with lovely hosts!

Liked: Fantastic, well-maintained site with good facilities. The hosts were lovely and we were welcomed on arrival. Large pitches and a well designed site. We were lucky enough to be the only campers in our area. Enjoyed a nice little walk around the lake too.

Liked: Second visit for us so we brought along our daughter and family with 4 children loved the fishing ,no charge for the kiddies with fishing ,adults do need a fishing licence to fish which was fine with us and a charge of £10 per day ,we treated the family to fish and chips on the Friday which were very nice although a little expensive when there's 8 of you 😀 maybe not bring the grandkids next time !!! (only joking) .The site once again is immaculate and just love the scenery to just chill out ,toilet and showers always clean and tidy .The site is very secure with a electric gate which is coded .
We loved our stay and will be back ❤️

Disliked: I really can't think of anything to dislike just perfect 👌

Liked: Nigel & Tracey, the owners are very helpful, cheerful and chatty.
The food served in the ‘barn’ was exceptional, as was the service.
The pitches are large and numerous within this huge nature friendly site.
It has two lakes to wander around or fish from if that is your thing.

Disliked: With binoculars at the ready we didn’t catch sight of the resident Kingfisher!! Next time.

Local attractions

Not had enough bird-based entertainment on site? Head over to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre 15 minutes’ drive to catch a falconry display or flutter 25 minutes away to the RSPB Frampton Marsh Nature Reserve for a touch of twitching in the wild. If the kids are in tow, take them to Jurassic Golf for the crazy golf course then follow up with the Fun Farm indoor play centre (both 15 minutes). Adults meanwhile might appreciate Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens for the regular concerts, theatrical performances and craft sessions; Peckover House and Gardens is also for them if they’re into aping the aristocracy on tours of posh country homes…
