  • Quiet site on a Leicestershire field 10 minutes’ drive from Hinckley
  • Mallory Park or Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre 10 minutes’ drive
  • Seasonal produce in the farm shop; breakfast and lunch available
Leicestershire bound? Perhaps you’ll end up at Bradshaw Farm, a site on a working farm situated between the two rural villages of Stapleton and Dadlington, with Hinckley 10 minutes’ drive away. Pitches are on a nicely level field, and there are simple shared shower facilities. Every last weekend of the month (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and on bank holidays, the site has a range of wine, beer and spirits for guests to buy. There’s also a well-stocked farm shop across the road, where you can pick up seasonal fruit, veg, fresher-than-fresh organic produce and home-grown plants; you can order a hearty cooked breakfast and tasty lunch there too. If you’re looking for a decent selection of pubs and restaurants to try, Hinckley (10 minutes’ drive) is the place to head for; you can top up on any other supplies from the supermarkets while you’re there. In general, this place is a fine choice if you want to get away for some R&R in the countryside. On the other hand, it may not be quite so peaceful on the weekend of July 17–20, when a gathering of the UK’s best tribute bands will be playing at Leicestonbury music festival on the farm, just across the road from the camping field.

Bell tent (six person)

Liked The hosts! The location! The ambition!

Richard was so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. He showed us, and the kids, around his farm and showed his passion for farming.

The location was great, only a 5 mins drive to the town and nearby walks (including along the canal to Sutton Wharf)

Disliked Facilities - very basic but this is known before booking and is fone.

From the manager: Why put a review like this? Nice but not very nice - why? You know what you are booking so why even bother to be so mean?

The owners of the farm were so so friendly. Will definitely be…

Primitive grass campsite (pet friendly)

Liked Really clean litter free site, tidy pitches with neat grass and wild grass giving the air of privacy between pitched. I like that they have just started yet have managed to tick so many boxes, farm shop, breakfast cafe, showers, a toilet and paddling chilling pools around the site for the hot weather. I hope to stay again. Richard, one of the owners was very approachable and friendly.

Bell tent (six person, basic)

Liked Friendly staff, went the extra mile

Disliked -Due to the low cost, it seems we had a chav family near us, which ruined some of it
-Toilet should to be checked at least once a day and refilled 🤷‍♀️
-bell tent smelled of mould

A great little escape out of the rat race

Local attractions

When golf is your game, you’ll be pleased to know there are several courses within about 20 minutes’ drive of the site. For watching high-octane pursuits like motor-bike racing, you’ll have to catch the right day at Mallory Park Racing Circuit (10 minutes’ drive). Take a waterside stroll in Market Bosworth Country Park (10 minutes), or learn more about the notorious battle of 1485 on guided walking tours at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (also 10 minutes), where the kids can dress up as knights for the day and there are occasional weekend enactments of fiercely fought medieval battles. If you’d like to know more about the infamous King Richard III, whose remains were found in a Leicester car park, visit his royal tomb at the King Richard III Visitor Centre (40 minutes). Still in the city, you can clamber aboard rockets at the National Space Centre, and let off steam in East Street Lanes bowling alley (both make great choices for any rainy days with the offspring).
