What customers say

Great value, quiet site with ample, flat pitches and lovely hosts. Bell tents are a good deal. Basic but clean facilities, though some want toilet upgrades. Rural setting and helpful owners are big draws; many want to come back.

Primitive grass campsite (pet friendly)

Liked We’ve had a great weekend camping here. The owner was lovely, he checked in with us a few times to make sure everything was ok, he also had paddling pools for hire which the kids loved. With it being a new site it is very basic but has toilets, a shower, a small farm shop, a cafe for pre booked breakfast and an owner that can’t do enough to help make sure you have a great stay so you definitely get your money’s worth, we can’t wait to come back again next year.

Disliked My only dislike is that there are only two toilets but for £10 a night some sites wouldn’t even have that, the owner did say that he’s going to be getting more and making upgrades.

Primitive grass campsite (pet friendly)

Liked Everything. It was quiet and peaceful. Richard and Wendy are both lovely, I like the way they came round a couple of times a day just to check that all is well and if you need anything. Excellent place for a bit of star gazing, saw many satellites, a few planes and one shooting star! Was lulled to sleep by the gentle sound of a hooting owl, and awoke to the amazing sound of a very busy rookery in the trees nearby. This site is very, very basic which is exactly what I wanted, and they delivered. Had a tour of the farm yard and the animals and met their rather mighty and majestic bull as well as the pigs, goats, cows and miniature horses. As an animal fanatic I was in my element. The tiny cafe is basic and fab, the food was really great too. Honestly, they couldn’t be more helpful if they tried. I will definitely be coming back and hopefully for longer than a couple of nights. Excellent value for money, for saying they only started this venture quite recently, they’re doing a great job. I highly recommended a visit. Feel awful not giving top stars for cleanliness, but it’s honest and I wouldn’t expect anything more from a fully working farm, I also wouldn’t change it either. As cafes go it is the quirkiest cafe I have ever visited and quirky in THE best way possible. Can’t wait to go back. I gave full stars for WiFi, no idea if they have WiFi but I had no issues with my phone connecting to social media etc during my stay in the field.

Disliked Nothing…other than my stay was too short. Back at work today wishing I was back in my tent in the peaceful haven of their camping field.

Primitive grass campsite (pet friendly)

Liked Cheap and cheerful no frills but such a price means a bit of wild camping was made accessible to enjoy some nice weather for 2 days ! Even the teenagers turned up and had a great night outdoors .. Owners v friendly and on the whole was a good experience

Disliked People on reviews moaned about the chemical toilets but at least they had some and to be honest for this price to have toilets is already good

Bell tent (six person, basic)

Liked The farmer was really helpful and accommodating. He went out of his way to show the children the animals and tractors. I was worried about staying because of some reviews but honestly it was fab. Also provided paddling pools for the kids.

Disliked Toilets. But this wasn't their fault as a guest was putting nappies in there. They could do with a couple more though.

Primitive grass campsite (pet friendly)

Liked An absolute gem of a find. Cheap for what you get which is a great pitch and a quiet field.

Are there teething issues yes but this is their first year doing this and from what I heard from the farmer (Richard) they have got some great plans for the coming years.

Will I be coming here again, yes I will 👍🏾

Bell tent (six person, basic)

Liked The hosts were just fantastic - so friendly and happy! My kids loved the open field where they played cricket and rounders. The size of the tent was really amazing and we had a really relaxing day. The farm shop was great and the farmer made a smashing cup of tea! Just wanted to say sorry to the hosts for leaving muddy footprints in the tent- we tried to clean them up but ran out of wipes! Loved the experience overall.

Disliked The flashing fairy lights behind our tent were a little annoying but we understood why they were there.

Bell tent (six person, basic)

Liked I booked an unfurnished bell tent as I was in the area with my 13 year old son and we needed somewhere to stay for three nights. The tent was big and clean and we had brought a couple of old double mattresses with us that we put on the floor. We were out all day and evening, returning in the evening for an hour to shower and change before going out again.

The single shower on site had hot water, reasonable pressure and was clean enough considering it's a campsite - so we were reasonably happy with the facility.

There was loads of space as this is a big field. The grass is cut short and the ground reasonably flat and level. We didn't do anything onsite apart from sleep and shower, although we could easily have cooked with our gas stove had we needed to. I also carry a generator in the van although we didn't use it on this occasion.

Our three night stay was cheap, and was good value for money as it was exactly what we required. I would stay here again and have already recommended it to friends who have used it since; mostly bikers and van lifers that want somewhere to park up for a night or two when in the area.

I found the owners to be honest, helpful and pleasant to chat with.

Disliked Not really a dislike, more of an oversight...the lights in the shower room are the solar type garden lanterns (which are rubbish) so you are changing and showering in the dark - which was a bit of a pain! The shower is electric so it should be easy enough to spur off and fit a proper light so that you can see what you're doing.

When golf is your game, you’ll be pleased to know there are several courses within about 20 minutes’ drive of the site. For watching high-octane pursuits like motor-bike racing, you’ll have to catch the right day at Mallory Park Racing Circuit (10 minutes’ drive). Take a waterside stroll in Market Bosworth Country Park (10 minutes), or learn more about the notorious battle of 1485 on guided walking tours at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (also 10 minutes), where the kids can dress up as knights for the day and there are occasional weekend enactments of fiercely fought medieval battles. If you’d like to know more about the infamous King Richard III, whose remains were found in a Leicester car park, visit his royal tomb at the King Richard III Visitor Centre (40 minutes). Still in the city, you can clamber aboard rockets at the National Space Centre, and let off steam in East Street Lanes bowling alley (both make great choices for any rainy days with the offspring).
