What customers say
Loved for its scenic rural setting, welcoming staff, and spotless amenities, including hot showers. Delicious homemade pizzas and the on-site pub are big hits. Families adore the roomy sites and abundant wildlife. A few mention road noise or minor mud/toilet issues in damp weather, but most rave about it and want to come back.

Great family campsite. Busy road at times.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Great campsite! Loved the location with lots in the doorstep to explore with kids.
The animals weee a fun touch and there was plenty of space in the field where we camped.
Disliked Close proximity to the road which was noisy.
There was also an illegal rave a few miles away which was blaring music through the night, but this of course couldn’t be helped. It was just a bit unfortunate. Other than these two points it was top notch!

Probably won't return
Power optional grass campsite
Liked Clean and spacious site, great little bar/cafe, staff very friendly.
Disliked Noisy road, donkey right behind our tent woke us up at 5am and a illegal rave going from 12am all through the night on in the field across the road

Great choice, would stay again.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The campsite was clean, spacious, had great views, not too busy, toilet and shower facilities were close by, pizza was good, staff were really helpful and friendly, quiet at night and nice animals and nature in the morning.
Disliked At first glance doesn’t cater to specific allergens we have in the group however further information wasn’t requested from the staff.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked A wonderful camping break with everything we could have hoped for.
The site itself was fantastic, well laid out, and clearly cared for. The toilets were clean and regularly checked. The owner and his family were genuinely amazing — friendly, welcoming, and always accommodating.
The facilities were fantastic, and the location was spot on. We loved that you could head straight out for a forest walk right from the camp. The on‑site pizza and bar were a real bonus, perfect for easy evenings after a day outdoors. The fishing ponds were a delight too, and we were really impressed by how seriously the owner took safety — he made sure the kids knew not to go near the ponds without an adult, which we appreciated.
Overall, a brilliant camping holiday. Relaxed, well‑run, family‑friendly, and full of thoughtful touches. We’ll definitely be back.
Disliked Nothing!

Power optional grass campsite
Liked Location great for Forest of Dean & Wye Valley. I loved the noisy donkey 🫏 and finding a random turkey wandering about🦃 owners great following my request of a corner plot under trees away from the road.
Disliked Cleanliness of the toilets & showers. Also children running in and out of toilets playing tag and screaming after dark but that's on the parents and my own fault f8r not booking an adult only site.

Camping pod (four person, pet friendly)
Liked Lovely pod, clean and in a quiet field.
Great hot showers
Lovely setting and surroundings
Disliked The 'mixed recycling'. This could be organised so much better to encourage people to recycle properly. The bins were over flowing and rubbish starting to spill out.

We would definitely come back as a family group
Power optional grass campsite
Liked Open fields and ability to have a good family get together, with vans able to be clustered together and to play badminton without disturbing anyone. Friendly staff. Bar and cafe. Location
Disliked The site was busy and there weren't quite enough toilets and showers. Also the shower block could have been a bit cleaner.

Many positives and if some improvements where done this would be 5*
Power optional grass campsite
Liked Lovely setting on the outskirts of Forest of Dean, good local food shops and amenities. Very peaceful & dog friendly. Some local attractions nearby such as Puzzlewood, Perrygrove & Clearwell caves. Brilliant local walks and great if you like exploring on foot!
Beautiful home made pizza on site next to the picturesque fishing area with bar. Electric set up works well and surprised how little we actually used, refund was quick for amount you didn’t use. Staff were generally helpful and friendly.
Disliked Having 1 toilet and shower block is a disadvantage especially given the size of the site, it was clean and well stocked daily however due to site size and been busy due to start of summer holidays another block it would benefit from.
Childrens play park although fully functional could do with an upgrade as quite dated and quite a long way from many pitches so children need to be accompanied 24/7, if would also benefit from a bench so parents can sit down whilst supervising. The other camping field would benefit from a children’s park I think.
Also there is only 1 waste water, chemical waste disposal and 1 fresh water on site which can be quite limiting and some with mobility issues would struggle with this as quite a distance from many pitches, it would benefit from these things been on both fields.
