  • Small, peaceful farm site with fishing on the England/Wales border
  • A 10-minute drive from the Forest of Dean; 30 minutes to a Go Ape site
  • Cycle hire 15 minutes' drive; bar and café on site
Settle in for an afternoon's fishing and look out for wildlife like deer, rabbits and birds, all in a lovely Welsh/English border locale among old oak trees and Neolithic stones… welcome to Broadstone Park. This is a small, peaceful and family-run site between the market towns of Monmouth and Coleford, named after those Neolithic stones and in an area with plenty of options for walking, cycling and other outdoorsy activities. Indeed, the site is well-liked among the mountain biking community. Set yourself up for a day of pedalling at the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre, 15 minutes' drive away, or a day of family-friendly activities at Puzzlewood, 10 minutes' drive away. Back at base, there is a small spring-fed coarse fishery for guests' use, stocked with carp, rudd, perch and bream and open daily from dawn to dusk. There's also a bar and a café on site for easy refreshments. Other facilities at Broadstone Park include a toilet and shower block.

Liked Relaxed site, lovely bar bar that does very good fresh pizzas. We sat out by the fishing lake to eat pizza and drink a few beers.
The site warden Jeff was brilliant. He was very welcoming and always seemed to be busy keeping the site looking it's best.

We'll use the site again if we're travelling this way.

Friendly welcoming staff. Level pitches.

Liked The spaced out pitches. Close to Monmouth.
Tranquil area around the lake and ponds. Watched swifts dipping into the water to catch flies.

Disliked Could do with more sinks to wash up in. And hooks around the wash basins.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Welcomed and shown around the site and walked to our pitch on our arrival. Chap was very welcoming and answered any questions.
Site was spread over 2 fields with plenty of space for our little boy to play in front of our caravan. Pay for what you use electric was a good idea, we used very little during our stay. Used the bar near the lakes a few a times and had a couple
Of pizzas which was handy and saved us cooking on our arrival.
Toilets/ showers were clean.
Would stay again. So

Disliked Maybe more things in the child play area

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Pitch where ever so can tuck yourself away. Clean site grass well kept. Fishing absolutely fantastic. Bar/ pizza reasonably priced, couldn't fault it on the whole ... But the toilets....

Disliked Stayed 2 days / night. Toilets were not cleaned during Our stay. We're particularly clean when we arrived, Mens smelt of urine and had no toilet roll.. pretty disappointing.. I didn't feel it was the kind of thing I'd have to go to reception to Ask for ....

Everything. Always a warm and friendly welcome.…

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Clear, helpful, and friendly service from reception on arrival. Great facilities available. Roomy and flat pitches. Animals to see. Great location on edge of a number of walking trails and not far from Monmouth.
The electricity meter was good idea so you only paid for what you used.

Good overall site with friendly and accommodating staff.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Beautiful site with lots to keep the kids entertained with a small playground, chickens, ducks, and a couple of small lakes to walk around. Great pizza served on Friday ight and lovely beer/cider for the frown ups. Toilets/showers were clean and staff very welcoming and accommodating. Kids loved the firepit we hired. Great all round experience.

Disliked The communal freezer we broken so it was difficult re freezing, the freezer packs but they did let us put them in the ice cream freezer instead.

Local attractions

Straight from the rear of the site are several woodland walks, one of which takes guests past the Broad Stone, after which Broadstone Park was named. Others cover part of Offa's Dyke and walks to Monmouth, the River Wye and local viewpoints like famed Symonds Yat: ask the site team for their faves to follow. Also in the area are heritage options like Caldicot Castle and the Clearwell Caves, and the buildings and pleasure grounds of the Kymin, highly praised by one Admiral Nelson (take the trek up to the Round House for the best views). Many other walks, cycle paths and swinging around in the trees at Go Ape are in the Forest of Dean, half an hour's drive away, and both Monmouth and Coleford are around 15 minutes' drive away for more urbanised days out.
