What customers say
A lovely, simple farm site, great for hiking Mam Tor & Castleton. Friendly owners, amazing views & space. Clean, though dated facilities can be busy. Popular pizza & breakfast. Some noise, especially from groups, and busy showers/toilets noted.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Great price and location, with all of the facilities that I needed. It was not crowded and no issues from fellow campers (vans, tents, young, older, families)
Disliked No fault whatsoever of the owners, but I feel the fellow campers should make more effort to tidy up the communal areas after they have used them (washup area, showers). Perhaps the owners should put up appropriate signage?

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Fantastic and secluded spot with stunning views, campsite is basic but has everything you need, remember to have a £1 for the shower (which was hot and powerful). Great to have a small shop selling essentials in site. Brilliant walks in every direction from the campsite.
We will be back!
Disliked No hook up but we knew that in advance and it was ok!

Great campsite, basic, with beautiful views
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Lovely friendly atmosphere, plenty of space around our pitch, having a bbq and camp fire.
Toilet and shower block were basic but fine.
Disliked Overflowing waste skip.
Nowhere to recycle plastic and paper as far as we could see.

Proximity to nice hiking routes…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Proximity to nice hiking routes
Disliked Far too many campers for the size of fields.
One field reserved for a school camping trip, the other field congested with tents vans and cars.
One single mens shower to cater for far too many guests. Queues were 3-4 deep at times.
Bathroom sinks were clean, toilets were smelly/dirty.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Loved the remote location and views friendly services
Disliked Showers and toilets should have been more plentiful and free,
The main issue was the huge primary school party that stayed up being nosey shouting and being obnoxious well after 11 with no concern for other campers! This kind of book g in future should be sole use.
