Liked The location is great, 10 minutes walk to the yacht club and about 50 into Worcester both along the river. The showers and toilets were clean and warm. Toby carvery is 2 minutes walk.

Liked Easy walking access to the coastal path.
Disliked Pitch was overlooked from all sides and not even level. Views of the sea were blocked by other vans. Cold showers. Road noise. Far too expensive for what it is.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay in April. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the easy access to the coastal path, it’s something many of our guests value. We’re sorry to hear that other aspects of your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We understand how important pitch positioning, privacy, and comfort are. Many of our guests do let us know during their stay if they’re unhappy with a pitch, and we’re always happy to try and find a suitable alternative where availability allows. We’re also sorry to hear about your experience with the showers. We haven’t had any other reports of issues with water temperature, so had this been brought to our attention at the time, we would have investigated and done our best to resolve it as quickly as possible. As a small team, we do rely on guests letting us know if something isn’t right so we can address it promptly. With regard to road noise, we are transparent that the park is located near the A55, and this is reflected in the information provided prior to booking. In terms of pricing, we aim to remain competitive with other parks in the North Wales area, while continuing to invest in and maintain our facilities. Thank you again for your feedback.

Liked So quiet and peaceful yet easy to access. Clean toilets and showers. We walked into the forest by crossing the B road, entering the forest and keeping left near the road to eventually come to the carpark and a main trail into the forest. It's not on OS maps but it's fine. The second day we drove to Brenig Reservoir for a lovely 14km walk.

Liked Gorgeous campsite surrounded by fields and hills. We didn't use the showers but they looked immaculate. The weather was horrendous so we were in the van for 2 nights. We had the TV and electric fire on most of the time, as well as all the other usual stuff and electric was only £5. Bargain. Will be back to enjoy a walk next time!

Liked Lovely clean site. There is a footpath over the road with walks into Wybunbury or Nantwich (some road walking). We used about £7 in electric over 2 days using the TV and electric heater, fridge, kettle etc which seemed reasonable.

Liked One of my favourite stays. Clean site. Short walk into Dyserth. There is a disused railway walk into Prestatyn. We joined this further down the route going behind the waterfall first.
The rustic showers are clean and the water is hot and free flowing. I made a mistake on my booking but this was quickly resolved.

Liked Really nice, clean site. Super friendly owner. Lovely walks along the river direct from the field. Goole is less than 2 hours walk away. Pub food was really good and well priced. Dog friendly.
Our friends stayed in one of the chalets so it's great if you want a trip away with none camping people.

Liked Nice quiet stopover within walking distance of Rudyard Lake if you want a nice easy walk and 2 pubs. Coming back we stayed on the track and ate at the Knot Inn (really good food and 10% off with a leaflet from the site). The shower was a proper one and very clean. Bad communication meant we got stuck in the mud but the owner pulled us out (after giving us a proper "Basil Fawlty" telling off!) So if you receive an email and your pitch is on the grass check 1st!
Disliked The walk down to the pub/lake is on a country road. It's not very busy and there is a grass verge to stand on to allow cars to pass but we chose to get a taxi home from the pub as it was dark.

From the manager: Thank you for your 8/10 review! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stopover and the local pub The Knot Inn. Unfortunately with the vast amount of rain we received over the duration and before your stay, it did result in us having to change your pitch number last minute, however, we are happy to hear the owner was able to pull you out and the new pitch was more suitable. Thank you for your kind words regarding the shower. Kind regards, Harriet
