Snape, Suffolk, England
Powered grass caravan site
Liked Nice site , with a friendly welcome - well located for Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh and fairly close to Southwold and some gorgeous beaches. Good sized pitches , excellent dog exercise field.
Disliked Nothing to dislike, although I think the toilet blocks could become busy , so you might want to consider bringing a loo if you haven’t got on board facilities - that said they may be looking to expand this, the site is clearly very new

Gran Confort fully-serviced grass and earth site
Liked Good spacious pitches, well equipped site. The town and surrounding area is beautiful, pools nice and supermarket next door excellent. Beach bus provides easy access to nearby beaches, which are fabulous.
Disliked Quite a lot of light pollution, which is a pity in a woodland setting. Lights on bright all night ! Water point was inaccessible for campervans as too close to the floor - taps are designed for motorhomes and caravans. No obvious waste water disposal point.

Liked Great facilities and really close to the beach which was perfect for swimming and a lovely village. Also enjoyed pint in the pub - food looked good but we decided to have fish and chips from the visiting van on site. Toilet block very clean and modern
Disliked Just a minor issue but the 5pm arrival time was difficult for us on a Friday - we like to set off for a weekend after work - although the site owner was accommodating when we said we would have to arrive later and helpful. Was a bit stressful when we got caught in traffic and were even later than I thought! I can see why you wouldn’t want anyone pitching up after dark, it’s quite an open site with children playing.

Liked This place does have its good points. The location isn’t bad, the pitches are a good size and it’s peaceful, and the sound of owls at night was lovely. The farm shop is really good too, and although we didn’t eat at the cafe it seemed very popular - as the meat from the butchers was such good quality I wouldn’t be surprised if the food was good too.
Disliked Toilets weren’t all that clean and there weren’t enough of them. Unisex toilets only work if you’re genuinely catering for men and women ! No sanitary bins (just a waste basket) and sinks too small for a wash, no mirrors in the cubicles. Overflowing rubbish bins was really bad, and a lot of construction material on the way in - the washing up station didn’t look particularly sanitary. It’s not the cheapest of sites and it needs a spruce up really and more regular cleaning. Not walkable to local pub, as no path on main road

Power optional grass caravan site
Liked Beautiful campsite, well maintained with excellent pool and very chilled out bar. A little further out from Cudillero than we would have liked, but I couldn’t walk far - it’s probably fine for most - stunning beach, and lovely towns to explore close

Liked Facilities are great, location fabulous. Excellent restaurants and bars on your doorstep and a shop serving everything you might need. Pitches are big, shady and fully serviced with water and electricity, views are fab. Nothing not to love. The walk to the Valle de Lago is a beautiful one, but long. Worth driving as far as you can unless you’re super fit or have an electric bike that can handle big hills.

Liked Great beach nearby, good facilities on site, good restaurants within a short walk. Most pitches were level, staff really friendly
Disliked Some areas could be cleaner (cat poo on pitch that had been there a while wasn’t so nice)

Liked Excellent, easy to find and well equipped campsite. Friendly and accommodating owners who were quick to switch the date of my stay when my son decided he wanted to return to Bangor Uni a couple of days earlier. It’s my 2nd stay and I will likely book again .

Liked Nothing not to like - facilities were all good, it was clean and tidy - nice to have water on the pitch. There are no toilets or showers but wasn’t a problem for us as we had facilities with us. Village was very sweet.

Liked Scenery, hosting, catering, location - just fabulous. The lovely couple running the site couldn’t do enough for their guests and Will kindly lit our fire for us when we were failing miserably - loved to see him doing the rounds in his tractor in the evening to drop off logs.
Great location for exploring, Cadgwith Cove is lovely, Lizard point 3 miles away, Kynance Cove just a mile or two further is beautiful - Portaloos are fine - showers nice and hot. You’ll get a 4G signal so who needs WiFi ?
