Basically just a field, pull up…

Aug 2026

Liked Basically just a field, pull up and find a space and that’s you. There was a mobile festival type shower block and toilet block. Toilet I used was clean but there was no working light so had to leave the door ajar, can’t comment on the showers. Can’t complain for £20 and perfectly ok for a stopover for a night.

From the manager: Thanks you review, Light has now been fixed in that toilet

Very nice.

Liked Location, Layout, pitch size. Lovely site by a stream with views of the surrounding mountains and woodland. Walking distance to local amenities and an ideal stop over en route to the Highlands.

Nice location. Poor site management.

May 2025

Liked Location, pitch size, decent facility block.

Disliked No arrival info, had to go and find the owner at their house to find out where to pitch. Issues with other guests - one family had spread themselves out over the top corner near the facilities block and were just letting their kids run riot all over everyone’s pitches. They had parked their car in the arrivals spot obstructing new arrivals rather than in their pitch. We had to shut ourselves in our motorhome in the end to stop their young son coming over and trying to get in our motorhome. It was so intrusive and rude. Then another family arrived and pitched next to us and commenced to behave the same way, kids playing football in amongst ours and other people’s caravans, parents doing nothing to stop them. This and kids shouting at each other, and then parents next door shouting at kids went on until about 10pm. Arguably not the site owners fault of course but there was no presence from them or any kind of deterrent for this behaviour, it was like these two families owned the place and there was nothing in place to stop their ignorant behaviour. Basically a nicely laid out site but with very much a ‘help yourself and get on with it’ feel with no interaction whatsoever from the owners. Might be ok if that sort of thing doesn’t bother you and if the other holiday makers are respectful but if you catch it unlucky like we did it’s not good. We found the whole experience invasive and stressful when all we wanted was a relaxing break after a four hour drive.

From the manager: Hello. I am sorry to hear of the problems you had. We were around on the site a lot in the morning and evenings but are out on the the farm during the day aswell. We did speak to the people as regards the children once we were aware of the issue and have since put up some extra signage to assist people when they arrive, keeping noise so it is unobtrusive and not to play around the caravans. As soon as we know someone has an issue we will sort it out straight away. Please accept our apologies - this isn't the normal experience for people staying here.

Terrific site, absolutely great.

May 2025

Liked Beautiful, peaceful location with terrific views. Modern facilities, spacious pitches, good hot showers with good water pressure. Communal room with sink, microwave, hot drinks and vending machine. Just very well thought out and amazing, probably the best site we’ve ever stayed on. No loud music, no noisy kids. Shame it was just one night.

Disliked Nothing.

Handy open field site with easy access.

Aug 2022

Liked The owner was really welcoming and helpful, We had to change sites at short notice after a bad experience and it was really easy with no hassles, plenty of space and countryside views in at least three fields. Easy to access from the main St Clears-Tenby road and handy for Saundersfoot. Apparently a work in progress and could be nice with a bit of tlc.

Disliked Amenities a bit run down (although clean), more of a camping field than a touring park, you don’t get your own ‘area’ as such. Price a bit steep at £30per night all things considered. Some of the other guests were ‘interesting’ in their behaviour which was unfortunate, not the campsites fault though. Maybe separating areas for caravans/motorhomes and vans/tents, dogs/no dogs would help, there’s plenty of space. Depends what you’re looking for.

From the manager: Thank you Hugh for your review. I apologize that your experience during the first night was not ideal but glad that the pitch we moved you to was quieter & more relaxing. As for your suggestions we will consider them carefully as we are very keen to further develop. Rhian

Ok overall but toilets/showers in serious need of updating.

July 2019

Liked Very quiet site, we were in the Camping Field in our motorhome as the motorhome pitches were all taken. Swimming pool was nice and all the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Pitches a little close together but manageable.

Disliked Some of the descriptions are a bit wide of the mark. The ‘spotless amenities’ clearly don’t extend to the men’s toilet/shower area which is quite shabby and outdated and the drains in the (small) shower cubicles were a bit ripe. It was impossible to shower without getting all your belongings wet with only an old shower curtain to offer a bit of protection. Also, on two occasions when visiting the toilets I was confronted with a bowl full of what someone else had left, I appreciate this is more down to previous occupants not being house trained but quite unpleasant, maybe the cleaning staff need to be a little more vigilant? As an aside, the pub mentioned is more like a 10 minute hike than a ‘5 minute stroll’ and wasn’t doing food when we visited, throw in no ice available and some gobby youths using colourful language in the beer garden and this fell a little flat. More like a local boozer than somewhere you want to go for an evening. Not the campsites fault but they do recommend it... but the unpleasant conditions in the toilet block did it for us unfortunately. Shame as it’s basically quite nice otherwise.

Beautiful spot, great views, clean but basic amenities.

June 2018

Liked We booked this site the day before travelling as a stopover on the way home. The location is really picturesque, we were overlooking a small river and the hills and as the weather was also really good it was a really pleasant place to be. We met the owner on the way in who was very friendly and welcoming and we then found our way to the pitch after being directed. The only slight negatives are that the amenities block, although clean, is very basic and you have to feed the shower 20p pieces in order for it to work. Also, payment had to be in cash and there was nobody present when we left so I stuck £20 through the door and hoped for the best! It meant we ended up paying slightly over the odds as we couldn't get any change but I'm not worried for the sake of a couple of quid. I think if things are bookable online they should be payable online and I could have added on the cost for a couple of showers rather than having to go searching for 20p's! ;-) All in all, it was a very pleasant place, good value and we would definitely return when travelling out that way.
