Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Not busy. Plenty of space. Large open field with scenic views. Quiet rural area. Friendly owner and dogs.
Disliked Shower too hot for me. Approach road very narrow but then it’s a quiet spot.

From the manager: Thank Paul. It's always good to hear from campers on site if you'd like anything adjusting, rather than read it afterwards in a review. We're always happy to help. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked No cars next to tents, so quiet with no door slamming competitions. Quiet out-of-the-way location. Only 4 pitches. Excellent toilet and shower. Level pitches. Good views. Very dark at night, so good for stars. Many owls calling throughout the night. After introduction, the owner left us to ourselves. Games room and veranda to lounge about. Kitchen with microwave and fridge. Trees for shade in hot weather. Friendly cows in nearby field.
Disliked Pitches a bit smaller than we are used to, but it's adults only and the other campers were friendly and quiet. Some midges due to nearby pond so take some insect repellent.

Unpowered grass and earth site
Liked Quiet, well laid out. Friendly staff. Not emblazoned with camp rules everywhere, unlike some places. Good showers and toilets. Left alone to our own devices. If going in high summer, I would recommend you take a tarpaulin for shade since this is a flat open field with no shade. There are strong phone signals but no site wifi. Sited in a large wild flower meadow. Some interesting flowers there. Owls calling at night and may other wild birds. I would say this would be spectacular for stars on a clear dark night.

Unpowered grass tent site (two person)
Liked Plenty of space nice views. No stupid rules pinned up anywhere. Choose your own pitch. Pitches not marked out or restricted. Toilets and showers very clean and well maintained. Very helpful owners who even gave us free farm sausages and eggs on arrival. Very few other campers but maybe because weather had changed. No cars next to tents but you could drive up to pitch to unload, so this meant no car door slamming competitions or loud car stereos like you have at some places while trying to have an afternoon snooze. Alas the weather changed for the very worse and some minor leaks in tent. So we only stayed one night. Strong cell phone signal.
Disliked The occasional fright train idled for 20 minutes or so nearby, but not too obtrusive.
