From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Whilst guests are restricted from walking all round the lake because there is a charge for entry to the gardens as they are part of the visitor attraction, there are some lovely walks in the area and you can enjoy beautiful views across The Great Lake of Castle Howard. We're happy to know you enjoyed our lovely clean showers and good sized pitches.

Liked Swimming pool and given plenty of choice of pitches we could use. Friendly helpful staff and nice shop on site.
Disliked Site was looking tired and could do with some maintenance. Going with the old signs about they used to have a farm and a lovely pond to look round. But no longer available. Money just seems to be spent on hired accommodation only.

Liked Very nice looking site with views of the river Seven. Nice restaurant and bar, especially liked the ploughman’s lunch.
Disliked Very tight to enter and exit with a caravan, wouldn’t advice if your a new caravaner.Lack of information unless it was explaining you can only use wood purchased from the site.
Toilets not cleaned during our stay once, new loo rolls added but they didn’t even bother removing the empty rolls. Fishing possibly was good in 2019 but I suspect a otter has removed a lot of the fish as there was evidence of a disused electric otter face. No Saftey signs under the mains cables above the pond warning of casting here, very concerning never seen any site with over head power lines not having warnings.
Not really suitable for children as didn’t seem to be anything for them to do.
Toilet and showers must be extremely busy in busy seasons.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Sorry for the shower unpredictability , this was due to an issue with one of the boilers.
