Liked Excellent location, close to riverside walks. Good for dog walking, cycling and fishing. Close to several good pubs and cafes.
Spacious pitches with nice countryside views.
I liked the self check-in
Disliked Overflowing bins on arrival which only got worse through the week. Although there are recycling bins, they are not labelled, and because the other bins are overflowing, everything got used for general rubbish.
Toilets and showers were dirty. They were not cleaned at all during our stay. If you lift the non-slip mat in the shower it is black and slimy underneath.
The poor hygiene at the site is the reason for the low score. And it’s such a shame because this could be a really lovely site with a bit of TLC

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we are really happy you enjoyed the location and what it has to offer. We completely agree with your feedback regarding the bins and showers. Due to a recent road closure for resurfacing, our local bin lorry missed a collection week which impacted on a particularly busy, hot weekend when visitor numbers (due to wedding in the village) and shower usage—peaked, this unfortunately led to the bins overflowing. We have also noted your comments on the shower mats and have since removed them, as we agree they weren't the best choice for holding dirt. Best wishes GC

Liked Big pitches amongst the trees with views of Etna
Disliked 1km to the beach but it was very dirty and none of the shops or restaurants were open as it was too early in the year

From the manager: Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for choosing Camping Almoetia. We are sorry that the nearby beach and some local services did not meet your expectations during your visit. Unfortunately, the coastline had recently been affected by severe weather conditions and recovery work was still ongoing at that time. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back in the future, when both the beach and the surrounding area can be enjoyed at their very best. Best regards, The Camping Almoetia Team

Disliked We had to pick up cat poo from our pitch.

From the manager: Gentile cliente, ci dispiace sinceramente per quanto accaduto. Cordiali saluti

Liked A small, rural site nestled amongst the trees in a forest location. Each pitch has its own picnic table. Basic, clean facilities, and plenty of toilets/showers for the size of the site
Disliked Some of the pitches are difficult to navigate because of the trees.
We didn’t receive an email with QR code to operate the barrier, but Anastasia was really helpful

Liked I think this is the best site in Sicily. Right on the beach, next to the nature reserve. A 10min walk to Oliveri. A lovely walk up the hill to Tindari.
The bar/restaurant was open for Labor Day but usually doesn’t usually open til 1st June. Shop not open.
The pitches are between trees offering lots of shade
Disliked Don’t use the washing machines. The first one broke with our clothes in, the second left everything wet and soapy

Liked What an amazing place and a fabulous host! If I could give 100 stars I would.
We asked for wine tasting and Alex messaged me to say did we want food. Of course we did! Mama Ferrari brought out some amazing breads and antipasto to accompany the fabulous wines. An absolutely stunning location, off grid
Disliked Pitch is slightly sloped, but chocks provided if you don’t have your own

Liked Close to Beverley. Able to walk to the town centre
Disliked A bit of a building site. We were only there for one night so we didn’t really mind.
It doesn’t really look like a touring site. We were on a concrete plot that looked ready for a static caravan to be set up
