Liked Loved the location and being surrounded by rolling countryside.
Loved the meadow and how the pitches had been mown.
The kids loved the swing& trampoline .
Good firewood for sale& very reasonable price for this.
The facilities were eco friendly so felt that staying there was not harmful to the environment. The Manor House looked really nice and it was lovely to stay in such beautiful grounds. Only stayed one night as a stop over but will definitely go back for longer next time.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We understand that the locked gate might have been an inconvenience during your stay. Unfortunately, due to past incidents where the gate was left open, which resulted in livestock escaping onto the roads and campsite, we've had to keep it locked for safety reasons. However, we’re always happy to assist – if you had asked, we would have gladly opened the gate for you and ensured you could access it on your return. It’s worth noting that this pathway only leads partway down the hill and doesn’t directly reach the beach, but we would have been happy to suggest the best route. We hope you had a great time and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Liked The location was fantastic, the woodland campsite was really nice, plenty of shade in the trees. You are allowed fires& BBQs off the ground which makes it the full camp experience! If that wasn’t enough, the facilities were very clean and well managed. Also a shop and cafe if needed. We only stayed one night but can’t wait to go back soon!

Buxton, Derbyshire, England
Unpowered grass campervan site
Liked Probably had nice views at the top field
Disliked I booked on the same day of arrival for a campervan but we couldn’t get in the top field due to mud off the path and there was a camper van blocking the lane - the man said he’d become stuck in the mud& had had to get pulled out. He said he’d been camping on the lane for 4 days. So we found a spot next to the rubbish skips & loos in the lower field but they were having a bonfire at the farm& the smoke was coming straight up to where we’d parked. No where else was flat. So we left as it was not at all pleasant. I emailed the site to ask for a refund (I’d paid £60 for 2 nights) but they did not respond. I think it would have been better if they had changed their availability for camper vans given the state of the ground rather than take payments at that time as they must have known the top field was inaccessible and that the site was waterlogged.

Liked We loved the secluded pitch, we felt like we were abroad! It was lovely in the woods as the trees stopped the sun from making us too hot.
It had a great wild feel but also had running water (cold and really nice water) and a couple of loos.
Also a woodland bar which seemed very well stocked and a pool table!
Rope swings for the kids and they loved playing!
Friendly owners
Able to have fires and rent fire pits although it was hardly needed in the heatwave.
We enjoyed watching bats at night & dragon flies in the day.
Beautiful surroundings.

From the manager: It is so nice to read your review of Henley Park and that you enjoyed watching the bats, even I had to stop and watch them the other night. We hope in the future that you maybe thinking about going abroad but instead remember the great time you had at Henley Park as we hope to see you again. Thank you so much from the HP Wild Camping Family
