Camping pod
Liked EVERYTHING!
The staff were incredibly friendly from all departments. Welcoming, facilities, breakfast van, shop.
The location - PERFECT! A 5 minute stroll to Pooley and 10 minute to the waters edge
The facilities - clean!!! The welfare in particular were really good
The park and grassed areas for playing - epic
The camping pod - lush! A very simple and fun way to camp, private decking area which was nice and secure for the dog
They had vending machines - dog shower - free ice block freezing - giant chess!
For hikers - super close to a number of amazing hikes, in fact Askham was right behind you by about 1.5 miles.
A brilliant site for families

Thomas shepherd's hut
Liked This site is a haven!!! Me and my daughter have stayed in loads of cool places, but this site just oozed calm. each hut had everything you’d need for a stay, the camping kitchen was kitted out with ample appliances, there was a communal area with a fridge and charging ports for appliances. The site was non electric other than this.
No phone signal - or limited at best. But we liked that. We simply explored, made a fire and enjoyed the site and surrounding animals.
We stayed in Thomas - cutest little thing!
Small goodies on arrival which were a really cute touch including marshmallows for the fire pit.
This site was pristine. Not an thing out of place.
Can’t wait to go back.
Lovely location. Close to Ullswater and Keswick within a 30 minute drive.
Disliked Nothing.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked The location was ideal! Almost perfect, Ullswater Way walking route is super close to the site which is brilliant, the view was unbelievable looking down to Ullswater and nearby Wainrights.
Huge site to didn’t feel crowded.
Pub less than 5 minutes down the road too which was adorable
Disliked Lack of facilities but I was only there for 1 night so this site really was perfect. If I’d have stayed longer I’d have wanted a wash haha
A bit noisy at times but people were having harmless fun!

Camping pod (family)
Liked What a stunning little find. The camping pod was exceptionally clean which was impressive considering the rain fall we have had. It felt like everything had been considered to ensure travellers have a fuss free stay - communal kitchen, welly and dog wash, camping pod specific - picnic benches, storage tub, fire facilities. Showers and toilets were gleaming and views were exceptional.
Sadly we weren’t on site much to explore but I could see a decent small park and a nearby dog walk trial. Plus lambs everywhere which were so cute!
Received a phone call prior to arrival to check all was ok and received a warm welcome when we got there!
Disliked Nothing to add.

Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site (overflow)
Liked Location, it was central to some beautiful areas, 5 minutes to Cayton Bay, 10 minutes to Filey and 15 to Scarborough. The beach banks leading from the site directly to the local areas were stunning.
Park was well set up and the shop had everything. It had good amenities to keep you entertained, swimming pool, club house, singers and entertainment, chip shop.. but it was too busy and rowdy to actually enjoy any of it.
You could take as much room as you wanted. Ample room as long as people were respectful.
Bins got emptied constantly which is great.
Swimming is best at 2pm and it's a cute little pool but very small. Beach location is 10000% the best part about the site.
Disliked I appreciate I visited during peak, the weather was amazing and its half term so I am taking that into consideration. I imagine during quieter periods its a beauty of a site to visit.
A lot of the dislikes have come from how busy the site was, I imagine making it almost impossible for staff to keep on top of it.
Portaloos were filthy in the extended tent pitch, toilets in the main blocks were dirty, mud all over the floors from campers, showers ran hot and cold and the floors were covered in mud and grass, a lot of the other campers ran a mock with large arguments and shouting, no showers at the swimming pool, the sink to wash dishes was really low at the smaller block. All plug sockets were used by appliances being charged. Electric tent pitches were really close together and next to the kids park.
Cars driving all over and parked at the tents. Easy for packing and unpacking but not particularly safe for a place where kids are playing.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Facilities were so clean, the toilets were in excellent condition and the shower caravan was a brilliant idea. Charging points for electrical items and a well equipped wash area for pots and pans.
Super tuned in to recycling and environmental commitments with loads of awards and donations displayed around the facilities which showed how committed and proud they were.
Fire pits at most pitches and it was a choose your own pitch which was nice. Fire wood was £7 a bag and ash was removed regularly.
A 5 minute walk to the Kings Head Ravonstondale. And no more than 8 minutes to the Black Swan which had an excellent park nearby for the kids. Lovely walks nearby and views. Kings Head is a brilliant local Black Swan is not very welcoming.
Their was also a golf course - didn't look at it and not sure what it was like but it was located near the park.
Everyone was friendly. Nice and quiet on a night. This is a family friendly site although the park isnt on site it's a lovely walk to get there no more than 10 minutes.
Dog friendly and the immediate fields had sheep and cows in but they didn't create much noise on an evening.
Ample car parking and a wheelbarrow to take stuff to and from tents which meant grass wasn't ruined by vehicles.
8 minutes in a car to Kirkby Stephen.
We only planned on 1 night and stayed for 4 we can't wait to go back!!!!!!!
Disliked Nothing.

From the manager: Thank you for your detailed review, Kirsty. We're very pleased you liked it all so much and stayed longer than you intended. It's a testament to our lovely campers that you found everyone to be friendly and quiet even on the Jubilee weekend when we were fully booked. Many thanks for posting your photos! We look forward to seeing you again.

Powered grass site
Liked Overall the trip was brilliant, the toilet, shower and kitchen facilities on site are really clean and they really do have everything. 2 parks, a football court, basketball court, coffee machine, microwave, family bathroom, mini golf, dog shower, beautiful wooded walks on the doorstep.
Everyone on the site was friendly, the staff were really helpful and the shop had EVERYTHING! It was so safe for kids too.
Short drive into Helmsley too which is really cute.
We can't wait to visit again already!
Disliked Nothing at all.
