  • Shuttle bus to town running every half an hour
  • Restaurant, bar and barbecue area on site
Right. Firmness is probably needed here. If you're in the habit of holidaying fairly regularly in Spain and you haven't yet been to San Sebastián in the Basque Country, it's a firm fact that you really should, and soon. San Sebastián is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain and has been described as the country's 'most elegant and fashionable seaside resort' (high praise indeed…) And you might want to stay at WeCamp San Sebastián too: it's only five kilometres from the resort's gorgeous Ondarreta beach, in a sublime setting between the mountains and the sea, and – how super – runs a shuttle bus to San Sebastián every 30 minutes. WeCamp San Sebastián is a family-friendly site with modern facilities, including an outdoor pool (open during high season only) and a kids’ club that handily runs daily activities. Covering the practical side of things, the site has an amenities block with plenty of showers and loos, hot and cold water all day and night long, and coin-operated washers and dryers. For eats, tasty local meals are dished up at the site restaurant, and a roomy barbecue area with picnic tables is available for guests' use. Thirsts can be slaked at the WeCamp San Sebastián bar and supplies sorted at the on-site supermarket; shops and restaurants are just over half a kilometre away.

What customers say

Great spot for hitting San Sebastián, with a super handy bus service right outside. Reviews rave about the modern, spotless facilities, especially showers and the pool. Staff are usually a friendly bunch. Some found the pitches a bit poky and uneven, and a few had grumbles about the restaurant and WiFi. Despite pitch size gripes, the location and top-notch facilities make it a winner for city trips.

Liked Showers were clean

Disliked Pitch was awful, extremely uneven, muddy. Whatcthey dont tell you is that the shop, bar and pool are all
closed on Wesnesdays.
Not worth the money they charge ( over £30 for 1 night with no electric)

From the manager: Dear Guest.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.

We regret that you found the pitch to be uneven and muddy — we understand how frustrating that can be and will pass this on to our maintenance team for review and improvement.

Regarding the shop, bar, and pool being closed on Wednesdays, we understand this may have come as a disappointment. While this is stated in our booking and welcome information, it’s clear we need to make it even more visible, and we’ll work on that.

That said, we truly appreciate you mentioning that the showers were clean — it’s always encouraging for the team to know when their efforts are noticed.

We’re sorry your stay wasn’t what you hoped for, and we do hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Best regards,
Reception Team.

Unpowered grass and gravel campervan site

Liked Reception staff very helpful. Great bus connection to San Sebastian every 20 minutes and low cost. Plenty of toilets and showers.

Disliked Bar/restaurant staff, didn't seem to care. Pitches felt quite claustrophobic despite being upgraded to a premium pitch.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Dear Mandy.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We’re really pleased to hear that you found our reception team helpful, and that you appreciated the convenient and affordable bus connection to San Sebastián. We're also glad you found the number of toilets and showers to be sufficient — we work hard to maintain those facilities to a high standard.

We’re sorry, however, that your experience at the bar/restaurant didn’t meet your expectations. We take feedback like this seriously and will share your comments with the team to ensure we address any issues with service and attentiveness.

Regarding the premium pitch feeling a bit claustrophobic, we understand that personal space and comfort are important, and we’ll take this into account when reviewing the layout of our pitches.

Your feedback helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future with a better overall experience.

Best regards,
Reception Team.

Liked New shower blocks near our pitch. Regular and reliable bus service right outside.

Disliked Not a dislike but a comment…. Very steep so campers need to be aware of that.

Unpowered grass and gravel campervan site

Liked Very clean and modern facilities. A frequent bus service to take you to town.

Disliked Very muddy pitches - bad. The "supermarket" is a small and understocked shop. Very steep driveway. Advised them that we had solar panels so they parked us under the trees.

Local attractions

San Sebastián city centre is 15 minutes’ drive from WeCamp San Sebastián – or do get that 30-minute shuttle bus... Once in town, firmly recommended are scenic strolls along its three beaches: La Concha, the surf centre Zurriola, and Ondarreta, a family-friendly and large stretch of sand also known for its surfing and bodyboarding. San Sebastián is quite the foodie city too – many inhabitants are members of the local gourmet clubs – and has heaps of well-renowned restaurants at which to sample Basque and other cuisine. It's a cultural place as well, home of the San Sebastián International Film Festival and of Jazzaldia, the longest continuously running jazz festival in Europe; small wonder that, along with Wroclaw in Poland, San Sebastián was awarded European City of Culture for 2016... The city is also (sí, there's a whole heap more) famed for its pintxos, the small bars of the region serving tapas alongside its drinks. Head to the San Sebastián Old Town to try the best of them: another reason this city is a must is that it has the highest concentration of bars in the world.
