Sure you would... so settle down for some significant time at Camping El Sur. El Sur is a peaceful, roomy and family-friendly site, close to the Sierra de Grazalema, Sierra de las Nieves and Los Alcornocales natural parks. Stacks more spectacular sights are within easy driving distance: ask the knowledgeable El Sur reception team for info on the best attractions and scenic car ride routes. Should you care to stick around on site for a spell (you surely should), the modern facilities include miniature golf, ping pong tables and a summer pool scenically set among greenery and flowers. A bar-restaurant serves traditional local food along with tapas and homemade cakes – you might very much care for all these foodie goodies also.

Well-run, clean, safe spot for motorhomes/campervans, walkable to Ronda. Great pool, facilities & restaurant locals love. Staff are legends. Pitches can be tough (bring strong pegs), shop's a bit sparse. Quiet, better for adults than tiny tots.

Liked Location, if very hot hard 1.5k to Ronda. Taxis around €10. Friendly & helpfull staff. On site resturant really good. Hard standing pitches in hot weather, very hard, will have to investigate as obviously a solution as i do have rock pegs.

Nice choice of pitches. Showers, washing faciities really good. Guy working very hard throughout the day. Shop very basic, bread on order.

Disliked Not really a dislike but as with a few sites, where do all the coat hangers go........

Liked Everything was great. Extremely well run campsite, perhaps more suited to Motorhomes and Campervans than tents. Carmen on Reception very friendly and helpful. Nice Bar & Restaurant. Outdoor pool open with showers and loungers.

Note: The pitches are hard. If planning to peg anything down, you need heavy duty ones.

Liked Ruhig, freundlich, hilfsbereit und ein fantastisches Restaurant mit einem unschlagbaren Preis/Leistungsverhältnis und netten Kellnern. Pool war auch sehr angenehm. Nichts für Leute mit kleinen Kindern lauten kläffenden Hunden, aber für alle anderen perfekt. Der Preis ist eigentlich zu niedrig.

Liked Ruhiger und sehr sauberer Stellplatz mit Pool und einem guten Restaurant, wo auch Einheimische hinkommen. Zwei Waschmaschinen und ein Trockner auch vorhanden. Sehr schöne Sanitäranlagen, die sehr sauber gehalten werden. Hohe Sicherheit durch geschlossenes Tor. Brot kann für den nächsten Tag bestellt werden. Entsorgung Grauwasser und Toilette sehr großzügig. Stellplätze für jede Wohnmobilgröße vorhanden.

Local attractions

To the mountaintop city of Ronda first, for shops, restaurants, tapas bars and Moorish sites such as the Arab baths, Ronda bullring (one of the oldest in Spain), the Palacio de Mondragón and the gardens – and spectacular views – of Paseo de Blas Infante. Ronda's also famed for its El Tajo gorge, where the Guadalevín river gushes through the city centre: stop off on the 18th-century bridge spanning the gorge for stunning views over the Serranía de Ronda mountains. This beaut part of Andalusia is a land of high peaks, Spanish fir forests and the white villages of the Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos and their buildings dating back to Phoenician and Roman times. The best known of these is probably Setenil de las Bodegas, where houses hang over the Trejo river; other must-sees are Olvera, Grazalema, Algodonales, El Gastor and Zahara de la Sierra, all most picworthy indeed. Caves, caverns, chasms and caving are popular picks too: take a trip to see the 25,000 year old wall paintings of Cueva del Hundidero-Gato and Cueva de la Pileta, making up Andalusia's biggest cave system. The caves are about half an hour's drive away and can be visited in groups of up to 20 – booking in advance is essential, so ask the Camping El Sur reception team to assist. Fishing, horse riding, paragliding, hot air ballooning and greenway cycling trails are all within easy reach.
