  • Peaceful Santo Stefano al Mare site filled with olive trees
  • Easy access from the E80 and close to the coastal bike path
  • Swimming pool and barbecues on site; summer shuttle bus service
Need somewhere to stop off on a long journey along the E80? Or perhaps you’re looking to stick around a little longer so you can explore the lovely Liguria coastline? Either way, the peaceful Camper Village, surrounded by greenery on the edge of Santo Stefano al Mare, makes a great place to park up for a night or few. Come along here and you’ll be staying in the cool shade of centuries-old olive trees, with a swimming pool that’s open in the summer months for guests to have a refreshing dip after a day out (or just whenever you fancy it). There are also padel tennis courts on site where you can challenge fellow guests to a game. Those aren’t the only options for an active day, however – it’s about two kilometres from the site to the seafront for watersports, boat hire and access to the coastal bike path (which runs for 27 kilometres from Imperia to Ospedaletti). And don’t worry if you're just after a relaxing day – there’s a beach down here too for swims and sunbathing. Getting down to the town’s attractions, shops and restaurants will take you about half an hour on foot (10 minutes by bike or five minutes in the car), but during the summer by far the easiest way is to hop on the shuttle bus that runs from the site throughout the day, thus saving you a long walk or the need to find a parking space. There are several places to eat out in town, but you can also pick up ingredients from the supermarket and use the site’s barbecue and picnic area.

Powered gravel and earth motorhome site

Liked There really was nothing to admire about this site. It has potential but would need to large investment of cash and, more importantly, some experience and love to bring it up to a reasonable standard. I very much doubt the owners have experience as travellers staying on sites, understanding the needs of caravanners and motorhomers, and how a site should be well managed for the enjoyment of their visitors, and to encourage them to return.

Disliked We travel in a Motorhome - the gates were shut on our arrival mid-afternoon and it wasn’t easy to find someone to let us in. No-one immediately available to register our arrival. It was indicated that we could pitch where we liked, and so completely set up - awning, awning mat, legs down, screen cover on etc etc only to find that the electric hook-up worked for only two minutes before shutting off - the same on all four available sockets. The receptionist tried to find extension cables to reach power outlets that she was aware were more powerful - they weren’t long enough and we volunteered to move to an alternative pitch. We noted it was necessary to pay for a shower, no loo paper provided, it was required to pay separately to use the swimming pool ie no real value for the €30 overnight cost. No tourist information provided. Walked down the road but not easy to reach the beach area. Glad we were there for only a single night - would not stay again, even overnight en-route to another destination, and could not recommend it to anybody.

Für eine Übernachtung okay.

Liked ????

Disliked Ungepflegt.

From the manager: Buongiorno,
Buona giornata

Liked Warmes Wasser, saubere Sanitäranlagen, guter Stellplatz

Satisfied with the accomodation, it's nice, calm, clean and cheap.

Liked Peaceful, calm and beautiful location, clean toilets, friendly stuff, two beaches are near...

Disliked Tennis and soccer playgrounds are near and in the evening it can be a bit noisy.
Roosters are starting their sesions at 4 o'clock in the morning, which is a bit annoying if you sleep in a tent or have opened windows in camper.

The park is in a beautiful spot. I was very late in…

Local attractions

Start with a wander through the medieval streets of Santo Stefano al Mare, visiting the Museo Relitto Romano before heading down to the harbour to see the traditional fishing boats and find local restaurants. Boat rentals and windsurf kit hire are among the amenities to help you get out on the water if you want to. A bike ride (or a walk) along the Pista Ciclabile della Riviera dei Fiori is a good way to see some of the coastline up close, or you could head straight to either Sanremo, to wander through the historic La Pigna district, or Imperia, to visit the eccentric Villa Grock and find whale-watching tours. Both are about 20 minutes’ drive away. Elsewhere nearby, you could stop by at Bussana Vecchia (20 minutes' drive) to see a former ghost town brought back to life as an artists’ village, visit Dolceacqua’s Castello de Doria and other intriguing architecture (50 minutes).
