With a private grass beach, watersports and bicycle hire to hand, Mirabella Camping certainly packs a punch for family holidays on the shores of spectacular Lake Balaton. This Southern Transdanubia site is in a peaceful part of Zamárdi with views over the Tihany Peninsula, five minutes’ drive from the town centre and about the same from Szántód for ferry trips across the lake to Tihany Abbey.
 The site has modern facilities ranging from a heated swimming pool to a playground, sports areas and seasonal entertainment. Down on the beach, get stuck into the water by renting equipment for watersports like kayaking, canoeing or paddleboarding or signing up for windsurfing lessons and eco-catamaran trips. Once you’ve hired a bicycle, set out for a ride along the scenic Balaton cycle path or go to visit local spots like the lavender and tulip gardens or the historic village estate (10 minutes’ cycle). On foot, it’s possible to reach the scenic Kőhegyi Kilátó lookout over the lake within about 35 minutes. After all that activity, you’ll need somewhere to refuel, and here Mirabella Camping really shines, with a waterside bistro and two snack bars, all with menus catering for any intolerances. Going down the self-catering route? There’s a well-stocked convenience store right on site, where you can also buy firewood for barbecues or beachy stuff like armbands and sun cream. If you’re travelling with infants, the campsite’s free baby-package service includes the provision of a pram, bathtub, high chair and baby bed in your accommodation – and don’t forget that there is a designated dog beach, so your canine pals can have a holiday too.

Liked Der Platz ist gross und war vergleichsweise leer. Das kleine Bistro mit den Burgen war gut.

Disliked Alte Elektronik, alte Waschplätze, keine Adapterkabel im Verleih, kein guter Service am Check-in. Auf dem Premiumplatz ein Baum, so dass es am Ende wieder ein kleiner Platz war. Wir hatten 2 Nächte gebucht und sind nach einem
Wieder gefahren.

Liked Bardzo duża przestrzeń rekreacyjna, możliwość wypożyczenia rowerów. Na placu znajduje się parę miejsc by zjeść, napić się piwa. Parlece nad jeziorem- czasem wietrznie ale krzaki wokół chronią przed nim.

Disliked Bardzo dużo robactwa, muszek. Po 22 hałas powodowany przez innych bowakowiczów nie był wyciszany przez personel

Liked Es war immer alles sauber und gereinigt.
Leider waren die Zuckmücken sehr aktiv und überall zu finden.
Wir haben den Stellplatz gewechselt und anstandslos die Differenz zum Seeplatz zurück bekommen. Dafür unseren herzlichen Dank.
Wenn die Hecken/Sträucher in der ersten Reihe (S8) kurz geschnitten sind, hat man auch einen Seeblick.
Etwas mehr Informationen für den Touristen wären nicht schlecht. Wir haben uns das Material in Zamardi geholt.

Disliked Cleaning, there were a lot of spider webs and insects, old sinks. Lack of labels in washing are. Lack of infrmation about depts of water in the lake. Water is very shalow

Your private Lake Balaton beach awaits just steps from the pitches for safe swimming in shallow water, watersports hire and sunset strolls along the boardwalk. If the kids are still restless after a day in the fresh air, take them to Zamárdi Adventure Park (10 minutes’ drive) to burn off energy on the zipwire and waterslides. The laidback lakeside resort of Zamárdi (five minutes’ drive) is a hub for summer music festivals and is also home to the World Wars Museum showcasing original military rockets, tanks and uniforms. Continuing with the historic theme, you can explore a traditional whitewashed country house at Fő utca 83 (five minutes), laid out with period furniture from 1847, or visit a flower farm at Köröshegyi (10 minutes), where lavender and tulip fields make a bright splash of colour in summer. To learn more about the baroque beauty that is Tihany Abbey (ferry from Szántód, five minutes), book ahead for a guided tour of the complex, which takes in the ornate church, chapel and cloistered herb garden – and don’t forget to take in the exquisite views over Lake Balaton.
