It's free, quick and easy!
- Tree-filled family-friendly site on a hill overlooking Cannes
- A 20-minute bus ride from the city centre and beaches
- Heated indoor swimming pool and summer evening entertainment
A slice of the swish Cannes lifestyle is a fab thing… and it’s an even better thing if you’ve got a comfy place to rest and recover after all the beach-going, partying and celeb spotting…
Pick a pitch at Le Ranch Camping and that’s just the mix you’ll get – this peaceful Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur park is just on the outskirts of the city, up on a hillside with splendid views and plenty of space to breathe. It’s a 10-minute drive to the beach from here, and around 15 minutes to the city centre (where the glitterati hang out come festival time or yachting season).
Parking can be a tad trying in the city, so it’s a mighty handy feature of this site that there’s a bus stop just outside for jaunts into town or to the sands. Even handier for party animals is the news that the bus runs right through to the wee small hours (although there is also entertainment on site for summer guests as well).
The coast around Cannes has some fine beaches and it’s highly recommended that you check out at least a few during your stay – but for those times when you just need splashing times a little closer to hand, there’s also the option of a swim at the site's heated covered pool, followed by a bit of sunbathing on the sun terrace.
Games of pétanque and ping pong provide a bit of activity for folk who need it, and there’s a playground with trampoline for energetic kids.

Local attractions
Being in this handy spot may well mean many a trip into Cannes – it’s famed for its celeb-filled film festival and glitzy yachting community of course (and that makes for some excellent people-watching…) but there’s rather more to it than that. The old Le Suquet area gives a glimpse into what the town was once like, and there are some pretty churches and a fab food market to wander around too.
For a change of sandy scenery, head to the harbour for boat trips to Île Sainte-Marguerite and Île St Honorat in the Lérins Islands; both have beaches, historic buildings and a somewhat slower pace of life than Cannes.
Leave city and coast behind for a while by heading into the hills for a hike – there are mountain trails to be trekked around Tanneron (25 minutes’ drive) and Grasse (half an hour), the latter also famed for its perfume production. If you reckon you’ve got a good nose for it, you can mix up your own fragrance blend at some of the perfumeries.
